We have a wonderful diversity program that celebrates our differences in our students staff by allowing them to talk about their culture during morning meeting. The students love to learn about our teacher's different backgrounds.

Education is a right and if we don't know what is important to the families in our schools then we aren't best able to meet the needs and find common ground to achieve the goals for children in the schools
Jackie Alces
55:59
Children learn from adults so we need to show that we support all races, cultures, genders, etc and teach love of all. Learning from each other expands our souls and mind. Learning new foods, holidays, etc is wonderful.

As an immigrant parent of color, learning, knowing and respecting diversity is possibly the 1st step in creating the respect for diversity and the need for inclusion when raising the citizens of the world.

In implementing diversity, we must assess the climate of our community to understand the biases, the fears, and the experiences that others had. We need to see where we are to develop a plan on where we need to go

I have joined the PTA at my child school every since she has been in school. The last two years at her high school. And the only meeting that has taken place is just for us to join and nothing else.

01:05:03
Agreed. Diversity does see color. Problem is people are taught to see something wrong with color. To avoid the wrongness we apply to color, we dismiss the conversation by saying color is invisible.
