Good Afternoon everyone. Thanks for joining us. Please be patient as we figure out the logistics. We have done 4 town halls today and learn something new each time. We will ask you to remain on mute and post your questions here in chat or raise your hand if you have a question. We will do a little house keeping and then address specific questions!

Matt
14:16
Where are the questions for the exam coming from? NBME prep courses?
Katie Ferry
14:28
Will the final exam be built out of nbme questions or will the questions be written?
Edgar Villalobos
14:50
When can we expect that email pertaining to POM
Allessia Scribner
15:48
Are we anticipating people will have to push their STEP 1 exams back?
Matt
17:06
If step1 gets pushed back, will we still be given time off from clinicals (1+ months) to study for the test whenever we take it?
Sama Elrahi
17:57
I know we were supposed to do EPIC training and drug screens and track selections soon. Do you anticipate us being able to start 3rd year on time?
Allessia Scribner
20:53
Do we have an idea when year round clinical assignments will be announced?

So will great syndromes be in progress at the time of the DHM final?
Renee Walker
24:44
Will GS still be with the PA students?
Matt
24:47
Will Great Syndromes still have a final?
Sama Elrahi
25:42
Will the POM 2 final still be an NBME exam since it is a subject exam and not customized?
Daniel Bradford
25:47
One, thank you to everyone for you efforts in managing the difficult task of working out the logistics to keep classes rolling. My concern is related to communications. Would it be possible to have regularly scheduled updates, even if it's "we're still working on things." The rumor mill is causing undue confusion and stress.
Allessia Scribner
26:17
Do we know what program we will be using to take the remote exams? Are there any special requirements for remote examination (such as computer requirements or environment requirements)?
Edgar Villalobos
26:58
I'm kind of curious as to how STEP may be pushed back but 3rd year will start at the same time, then we also cannot have certainty in drug screens and so on before rotations. I'm worried about stacking responsibilities and, as mentioned before, burnout. Could you organize these concerns in a sort of priority list? STEP, 3rd year, dedicated, and so on..

Regarding Daniel’s question—When people individually ask questions, and then share the information with the class via different platforms—of such, not everyone in the class is on—it causes unrest that some people are getting information and that the whole class isn’t being addressed. So perhaps if people ask individual questions to any of the administration via email, more than likely most of the class would like the information too. Blackboard discussion boards are great for to solve this, but we don’t have something like that with the administration.
Edgar Villalobos
32:48
I guess what I am asking is in terms of what is more likely to change and what/how students can prepare for as well, so thank you all so much for your work.
HAMZA UDDIN
32:59
Will “Hybrid” tracks (ex: block 1 and 4 in galveston and blocks 2 and 3 in houston) be made available this upcoming year as they were last year?
Sama Elrahi
33:54
I love the idea of us having a weekly Town Hall for this right now since the situation is ever-changing and the uncertainty does cause stress.
Daniel Bradford
35:32
Are schools, including ours, lobbying to peed the transitions to a pass/fail Step 1this year, given the circumstances?
Matt
37:58
If step1 moves to pass/fail in the time we take it, what does UTMB recommend we do to keep ourselves competitive for residencies compared to BCM, UTSW, Yale, etc?
Angel Padilla
40:48
As far as DHM exams, could there be some communication from course directors on how to prepare for exams? Since the exam will no longer be NBME, resources will have to be different.
Michael
44:31
thank you
Edgar Villalobos
45:47
If you wish to remain anonymous you can send a message on here directly to you, Dr. Woods, if you're ok with addressing anonymously

47:30
If we do end up having to push back STEP 1, could UTMB consider extending the amount of time we have access to UWorld's subscription?
carolinekelly
48:53
I’m confused—if POM final is to be NBME, why is it that DHM final can’t be NBME too?
Michael
49:30
they only gave us until april
Michael
49:43
or whatever month we taking it*
Allessia Scribner
52:29
DHM final could not be given as a subject exam?
Katie Ferry
53:45
Is there any update to the CBSE voucher?
Katie Ferry
54:04
Like timeline?
Renee Walker
54:50
if we have already taken NBME 21, will our voucher work for another exam?
Katie Ferry
55:01
Thanks!
Jordan Spaude
55:12
Will the voucher have a deadline on when we can use it?
carolinekelly
56:33
So you will still see our scores, Dr. Shields?
carolinekelly
57:08
(And will maintain on some kind of tracking schedule—i.e. hit the same score we were told, and if that doesn’t happen have a third, etc.)
Michael
57:14

Michael
58:58

Katie Ferry
59:09

C. Griff

Thank you!

It is not the destination, it's the journey, the laps around the couch instead of the neighborhood. Thank you all for your time and hope we weren't as rough as the first years.
