There are some great artists based in or with links to Brisbane with experience in creating intimate performances that La Boite and the Tivoli can turn to - e.g. Sarah Winter
Melissa - Arts Nexus
01:11:07
Yeah, like drive-in theatre
Leanne de Souza
01:11:51
I wonder if the 10-100 could change the timing of shows ? Do more flexible times of day and not the 7.30pm kick off etc. What about short no intervals for small crowds. The logistics could be remodelled from 'how it has always been done'
Leanne de Souza
01:13:08
Also, outdoor professional shows in community spaces . . expose people IN their community to live performances. Community programmers ? not of community arts, professional IN COMMUNITIES.

01:15:11
Jacob Boehme stated, ‘We need to redefine our practice, it’s relevancy to our people and broader society, build local economies where we value communities as primary stakeholders - which means we need to speak and be accountable to those communities, our practice needs to be in service to them, not the other way around’
BlakDance BlakDance
01:15:21
In BlakDance sector consults we are hearing this: Artists noted the decline of monolithic ‘cultural venues’ - those that define the value of art and culture by tickets sales alone. They called for a shift in the criteria for both having to make work and be expected to present in those circumstances
Elliott Bledsoe
01:15:28
Totally agree. The arts has lost control of the narrative.
Leanne de Souza
01:17:08
Communities themselves will demonstrate how they value arts and culture - perhaps that is where the narrative will be driven from?
Ali Clinch - Acting With Ali (NSW)
01:17:15
my question - has your organisations been impacted in a way that may create a more inclusive theatre experience… live stream etc.
Anna Molnar
01:17:42
Yes - shifting to how an arts org or venue is part of a community, and is an community space rather than separate and apart
Melissa - Arts Nexus
01:18:52
Sadly the NGO’s that are closest to members and individuals, especially independents (eg. Arts Nexus) will drop away first - then who will communicate to decision makers, what these needs are?????
Bong Ramilo
01:18:54
Good morning! CACD theatre groups and workers have experiences with theatre for 1, 10, 100, 100000. Some, like Sidetrack Theatre in the 1990s, had a phase when they weren't even interested in "audiences" (as conventionally imagined). Theatre has not always been tied to black boxes, or box-office driven theatre. Maybe we should look at the experience of community-based theatre.
