As an erstwhile designer, when clients don’t have money for stock images – or not the kind that don’t SCREAM “Bad stock image!!!” I create the icons like you had in the “Christmas ornaments” grid. I use actual skin tones, not rainbow colors, but it’s an inexpensive way to showcase people without defining what exactly “our supporters” look like. I loved your perspective! Just sharing mine!

We've been told that not showing faces (in the illustrations) allows others to see themselves as opposed to an other. Not sure I agree, but I think that is where it comes from.

Thank you so much! Q: I worry that in our efforts to be more inclusive in our marketing images/copy/video that we risk appearing to "co-opt" other cultures for our benefit. This is a real concern especially in relation to Indigenous culture. Any thoughts on how to avoid "using" other cultures in our efforts to be inclusive in our branding/marketing?
Maggie Oberrender
01:59:25
This has been phenomenal, thank you!!!
Eva Kipnis
01:59:51
What is your view on discrimination of minorities by other minorities? How should this be addressed?
Samantha
02:03:11
Do you feel that you have to be a minority to be accepted as authentic when coaching/educating/talking about bias? OR LGBTQ to be authentic when providing perspectives for this under-represented group?
Samantha
02:04:52
How would you explain the difference between admiration for another culture versus cultural appropriation?
