did you provide the extra tables or did the vendors have to bring their own?
Annalisa Hultberg
01:20:15
UMN Extension has a factsheet on building a handwashing stand, including materials. Using a table is just fine too, of course https://sites.google.com/umn.edu/food-safety-fact-sheets/home

David Nicholson

When using SNAP, the exchange of good has to occur within 10 days of the time of the SNAP transactions. In addition, there are currently no platforms for small producers that can process SNAP-EBT payments. Therefore, for the moment, the only option is to process the SNAP transaction at the time of pick-up/delivery.
owner
01:21:13
can we get copies of vendor guidelines?\
Annalisa Hultberg
01:22:13
And just a note that the water does not need to be warm in the water container at handwashing stand to be effective (correct me if I am wrong, as I know some local ordinances say differently and require warm water)
Kelly McManus
01:22:18
Local distilleries are banding together to provide hand sanitizer to non-profits and at-risk groups. GREAT resource to include at the hand washing stations! https://www.allhandsmn.org/

#Starrbrainard The longest duration I've seen is 3 days on plastic (for 99.9% die-off). In general, I'd rather have it on something I can santize immediately than something I can't sanitize and have to wait for it to die off.

Perhaps a customer recommendation should also be that families limit attendance to 1 or 2 members and not use the Farmer's market as an outing. This will help with distancing overall.

01:27:52
Research shows that coronaviruses can live up to 3 days on hard surfaces, 24 hours on cardboard, 3 hours as aerosols in the air. But remember that there have been no documented cases of transmission via surfaces of the virus, as it is not stable on surfaces and dries out and becomes inactive quickly (depending on how much was there to start with). The primary mode of transmission is in the air via droplets. So, keeping people apart from each other is so critical. Surface cleaning and sanitation is also important, but remember that droplets being spewed from people to people are the way that people are getting sick from this (as far as we know now thus far)
breen026@umn.edu
01:28:29
I would add the primary mode is SUSTAINED contact

emilytweten
02:02:14
Are there resources that we can share with our vendors?
Annalisa Hultberg
02:02:45
Re: marketing this - markets are controlling the number of people, and their proximity to each other much more effectively than a grocery store. If you can message that somehow, it is definitely true and in that way a market is objectively safer (fewer people, not congregating, so fewer opportunities to have airborne droplet spread between folks)
starrbrainard
02:03:01
yes please
Renewing The Countryside
02:03:47
On Local Line, we’ll go into more detail on the webinar on Wed April 8. Here’s what the Rochester’s market looks like: https://www.localline.ca/rochester-farmers-markets

it has to be soap (not antibacterial soap), water, and single use towels, and a way to catch the water
breen026@umn.edu
02:04:19
Did you all use single use towels??
Annalisa Hultberg
02:04:23

You don't need anti-bacterial soap even if bacteria are the concern. Rubbing hands and creating friction under running water is the way to clean hands.

Sorry if asked before, but why are Farmers Markets being asked to follow extra protocols when grocery stores aren’t? It’s a good idea to do, but are there two standards?

Grocery stores are also following extra precautions
