26:08
Thank you !!

30:46
Thank you for this.

37:34
Thanks for this opportunity to meet. Any chance of deferring our dues to much later in the year or even forgiving them completely this one time?

40:20
Asked a question regarding extremely late commercial payments in the Q&A. not being impatient, just don't want to get missed lol

41:33
cannot see the link you said an attendee sent

41:44
… I think Samy may have just sent the link to panelists only

41:45
I do not see that link just mentioned - maybe it's in the only panelists chat?

41:55
I can't see the link

41:59
Here it is again: https://www.canada.ca/en/department-finance/economic-response-plan/covid19-individuals.html#new_canada_emergency_response_benefit

42:04
Thank you

42:08
Thanks Friend ;)

42:12
Thanks Samy!

42:16
Yes, sorry was sent to panelists only.

42:24
Very good Thank You

42:51
I believe you have to apply through my cra account.

43:18
Very good to know about this aid from the Federal Government. Will help a lot.

43:52
just be aware the timeline might be longer for EI. The ROEs will take time to get through digitally

44:11
I'm sorry did you say it'll be available the 5th or the 6th?

44:28
The 6th

44:36
Thank You

44:45
Or even EI i believe

44:53
For that $5000

46:31
Please ask questions in the Q&A, not the chat window. Thank you

47:27
Are all questions going to be addressed? Especially ones that were emailed in prior to today?

48:16

48:33
Cheers to David hope and the AFC.

48:44
Hope.

49:07
We will not be able to answer everyone's questions during this period, but we will attempt to address all questions on our FAQ page.

49:31
David: do you need volunteers to help process any of that information? Can I volunteer time/ support you at all?

51:01
Official Canada document doesn’t make it clear that ‘between engagement’ artists will qualify. But recent CUPE Q&A references self-employed and the $5000 in past 12 months. If you are already on EI, you can apply for this Benefit after EI runs out (if by October). I’m on EI right now, will run out before then and waiting on whether a offer can be honoured in a contract starting in June.

51:11
Hi Shannon! What a lovely offer. I think you should ask that question on the Q&A section, since I’m not sure David can see your post in the chat section.

53:43
I'm willing to volunteer to help Actra anyway that is needed

54:51
my questions aren’t going through for some reason in the Q&A

54:57
You, 12:37 PM For those who have 2 jobs an actor AND paying into EI. Is it possible to apply for both insurances or would one by more ideal than the other? More of a government question, but just curious as to if there are any insights.

56:31
I just copied your question to the Q&A Farid!

56:37
Great question Farid. I’m in the same boat.

57:20
Thanks all, I have posted that question to Q & A as well.

57:47
Barry cooks answer is interesting

57:50

58:03
Farid - as I understand it, if you are on EI right now, you stay on EI until it runs out, then you may try and apply for this new Benefit (if by October). If you applied for EI very recently for Ei (before Benefit announced) I understand it may transfer directly over to the new thing. No sign of been able to do both at same time.

58:57
Credit Union is merging with another institution.

01:00:44
Hear, hear. Our Postman is great.

01:00:56
Regarding Mortgage: 6mo. deferment may be principle only not interest. Talk to your Bank or CU to clarify.

01:02:28
Thank you for the update on deadline for account upgrades. is that the case that we have till April 15th to upgrade our account.

01:02:47
Write your bank. I wrote the president of Scotiabank admonishing them for still charging interest on those deferred mortgage payments. They phoned me. More people write and they will listen.

01:03:14
lol

01:05:25
Thanks for the tip Michael!

01:05:40
lol. Fellow actors need to focus some of your attention on the fact that large companies who use our services for commercials are only getting hit with a 6$/day late fee for delaying our residual payments. Delays past the 21 business day tiem periodwhat's 6$ going to do to companies woth billions/millions

01:06:44
Great confidence in all our leaders. Dedicated and capable. Thank you.

01:07:26
MSD: do you have the Scotiabank pres’s email ?

01:07:38
You’re an elected leader as well Jack. Thank YOU!

01:10:45
So very encouraging that the general fund is down about half of what the larger market is.

01:10:51
You only lose on investments if you sell at a loss. No point on stressing on this if you weren't planning on selling anytime soon. If you were planning on selling, then yes stress away. Although remember, relief is coming ($2000 a month) starting early April.

01:12:27
Thanks Samy!

01:12:46
Great point Samy!

01:13:08
This is so helpful!! THANK YOU for doing this. Also, LOVING Theresa’s background.

01:14:51
Great short story by Bruce Jay Friedman about a man whose temperature was related to the stock market activity, called Black Angels. Dark and funny.

01:15:33
when will AFBS implement a procedure for health claims to be submitted electronically, instead of hard paper copies and mailing it to the office. lots of time is lost in this process. personally, the office had actually lost my hard copy submission.

01:17:02
Hi Karen: You should ask this question on the Q&A section if you haven’t already.

01:17:17
oops

01:17:44
I just copy pasted from Karen Lee

01:17:55
Bob is such an experienced and knowledgeable manager. Kudos.

01:17:59
and posted it on Q&A, let's see if they read it.

01:18:08
Thanks Andrea!

01:19:04
Amen to AFBS joining the 21st century re. online claims!

01:20:49
CAMH has a great website on anxiety in this age.

01:21:57
Yes. For sure.

01:22:06
HARD YES! SHOUT OUT TO STAFF! Super happy to be an ACTRA member in these times

01:22:22

RE: Mental Health. Over the last few months I've been mediating regularly. I live alone and human contact has gone down to almost nothing during the last couple weeks. I'm used to seeing/hugging people several times a week, if nothing else, during acting classes. I've noticed that meditating has helped immensely. I feel it especially during/after a session and maintaining a daily practice has been amazing for me.

01:24:41
Amanda. I don't speak sign language, but thank you for your helpful work.

01:25:15
Amanda, thanks for your sign language for this session. haha second Jack’s msg

01:25:17
I'm a bit of a luddite, so I may have done something wrong, but I don't think my question in Q&A has been seen...

01:25:46
yes, Amanda is killin' it!!

01:25:54
Thank you all. My family calls. Be well. Spring will be a little late this year, but it will come.

01:26:13
Great advice Samy. There are many apps that assist with meditation if one is a novice. Virtual hug to you.

01:26:22
Janine, unless the question is answered, you won’t see it in the Q&A feed. Hope that helps!

01:26:26
Amanda signing is making me want to learn as a skill

01:26:33
Kudos for the work ACTRA has done on the Emergency response benefit.

01:27:10
Nadine, you now have the time!

01:27:38
I would still like an answer to my question about ACTRA being paid for self-tapes if the new normal for the next year will be that we are required in home studios to be considered for auditions.

01:27:47
Yes David preach!!!!

01:28:12
Great question Mikaela, did you post this to the Q&A already?

01:28:32
I did, but I feel like it was just skirted by David's response just now.

01:31:24
The COVID-19 page links on ACTRA Toronto, ACTRA National, The AFC and AFBS that have been discussed are posted to ACTRA Toronto’s Twitter & Facebook feeds.

01:31:48
experienced the same. going to just have to call in and get my answer directly. seems some questions too hot for the GroupChat lol

01:32:07
Mikaela, I think you should be able to write off home studio material (camera, lights etc) when you file your taxes. But I think the main subject matter here is in regards to dealing with the immediate Covid 19 issues. This may be a question for a later date.

01:33:17
I see people here talking about the future of their investments and mortgages - as a young performer without that kind of savings, I think it's perfectly reasonable to expect an answer about the future of my ability to pay rent.

01:33:35
Agreed 100% David Sparrow. If you work, and you pay tax you should be respected.

01:34:53
I had a pretty important question in the Q and A about a last resort April RRSP withdrawal for those in dire need right now for funds. It hasn’t been answered yet.

01:35:05
I want to be clear that I'm very thankful for the work the union has already done, and they should absolutely be lauded for the work they've done, but in the face of a changing industry I would hope we can talk about the future. Thank you for addressing this directly.

01:35:09
I worded that incorrectly, you should be respected regardless. You should be assisted when you need it :)

01:35:51
Thank you very much for your answers here.

01:36:00
All good Mikaela! We are all trying to keep afloat!

01:36:11
Dan, what was the question?

01:36:16
Yeessssss Amanda !!!!!!!

01:37:05
The gov’t mentioned lowering the withdrawl rate by %25 from RRSP’s… Does this apply to an April withdrawl? And, what is the amount of the fee being waved by AFBS Bob spoke of?

01:37:49
New text in the IPA:

01:37:51
Audition Recall When a Performer is required to attend a third (3rd) Audition at which someone with a significant role in the selection of cast for the Production is not present, or a subsequent Audition, the Producer shall compensate the Performer for expenses incurred by paying an amount not less than $82.50/ $85.00/ $87.50 for each hour or part thereof. When self tapes are required by the Producer, the self tape is considered a first audition or audition recall for the purposes of this Article.

01:37:57

01:38:54
The new language is that, when the producer requests a self-tape, the self-tape is considered to be one of the auditions in this “count” to get to recall fees.

01:39:07
Thanks Richard!

01:40:17
Please forgive me here. Is this a multi screen session, or are we just viewing the panelists?

01:40:50
