Will there be any guidance regarding planning for potential requirement of social distancing and transportation? How will schools be expected to transport students and keep students 6 feet apart?

I’ve been reading the Governor’s “Stay At Home 2.0’, and I’m wondering about the section 2 - screening of employees. Are we expected to screen every employee this way (ex. Taking their temperatures) , even though for those who have been reporting to work all along throughout this Remote Learning period (essential staff). What are the parameters of these screening requirements?
Bill Lupini
01:04:38
I don’t understand the guidance that was released yesterday regarding end of year events. Specifically, it references the Governors Executive Order limiting planned assemblies to ten people or less yet, in the next paragraph, references holding an event like the recent Air Force graduation. My read is that the Air Force event wouldn’t be permitted under the Executive Order. What am I missing?

In line with planning for Sept - will there be suggested resources for safety measures such as temp taking tools, cleaning technologies? Are there bulk buying discounts for technology? Additionally, as we begin to consider what will likely be a ping-pong in and out of remote learning AND/OR every-other-day school attendance for kiddos to keep the numbers of children in classrooms down for safety, we are trying to budget - for staff including additional planning time and potential need for coverage in classrooms to teachers can also attend to their remote learning students; additional technology for equity of access; additional platforms and related costs, etc. Will CARES cover all of this, what other funds will be available (with my question related to charter schools which may be different than SAUs). Thank you!

We made the decision today to do ESY remotely

Farmington is doing the same.

Kindergarten graduation(8kids)... if I have a huge sanctuary and can put family groups (no more than maybe 50 people total) separately in a room that occupies 283 people.. and release directly out and maintain social distancing... would this work?
Bill Lupini
01:09:35
We are making all of our plans for ESY and other summer programs as if they would be remote.

We continually hear about what CARES $$ will cover. If I understand correctly, we could anticipate 85% of our Title 1 allocation. For us, this is a very small amount compared to the costs we are incurring. Will any of the governors discretionary funds under CARES be available to assist schools with these expenses?
Joseph Ribsam

Wakefield will do remote learning for ESY also
Steve Appleby
01:16:56
Hi Sandie- We are still waiting for Pearson to provide a remote option. As soon as we get that info we will pass it along. If you have a specific issue please reach out to me directly. Thanks! -Steve

This task force really needs to get moving. We are already starting to plan for next year and will need guidance as soon as possible. There are so many moving parts to re-opening school that need to be addressed. We needs months to plan this, not weeks...

Does screening for an event mean something like checking people at the door or just putting notice out to who should not attend?
Linda Brady
01:31:21
Screening- we have a private emergency daycare and a grade school ...we screen children and staff and visitors everyday-- temp and the 3 questions found on a revised Long-term care visitor screen form from state... works well. We did have to have one person specifically designated to do this each day.

Issues with in-person ESY is staff/families who don't want to "risk their own health" and the lack of childcare for educators to be available to conduct in-person instruction.

Criminal Records is doing criminal history checks remotely and the requirement for FBI fingerprinting is deferred until the conclusion of the state of emergency. How will this impact school district hiring?

Who can we provide suggestions or input for the CARES $$ before guidance is fully decided?
Joseph Ribsam
01:38:34
We encourage everyone to use the Child & Family Wellbeing Guide which was previously shared and linked in some of the DOE guidance shared today. School staff can use, but we also want all community members checking in on families, making sure they are ok, and helping connect them to services. It's available here: https://www.dhhs.nh.gov/dcyf/documents/family-wellbeing-during-covid-19.pdf

With the uncertainty of the start of next school year and the potential challenges with time at the start of next fall, why are we being asked to pick a fall SAT date for our current juniors, seniors next year to take the SAT?

For planning purposes - is it the general recommendation that each school will need to have a thermal screener
Michael Bessette
01:42:36
As we consider a potential return to school in the Fall, guidance related to transportation services that might potentially impact the normal routines of getting students to and from school and home would be very helpful. Is this being prepared?
