Have any of our employees been able to get thru to make an unemployment claim?
Matthew Price
53:32
And did we make a mistake to lay off full time staff so they could file for unemployment? I’ve heard mixed messages at state and national about what we should be doing with staff.
Karen Hoskin

We're worried about paying the bills and keeping the restaurant open during this time of regulations. How do we keep employees employed and maintain levels of business to be able to continue to sustain operations?

54:16
We have many employees at the Slogar who have had success with unemployment

i have not seen the second page after 1,000 attempts. 10 employees same thing, and busy phone lines.
Karen Hoskin
55:52
From what I am reading, I think as long as they were on your payroll on Feb 15th, you can still help them later even if you laid them off.
Callie Koch
56:25
Matt Price, there is the option of work-attached unemployment if you intend to re-hire your employees but they have no work right now
Karen Hoskin
56:41
Can I respond?
colli
58:29
In an answer to Mochas, I've seen a lot of success with stores who have pivoted to online sales. People are buying kits/activities now, so if you can provide fun things for people to eat and do. So, decorate a brownie kit take away sales, etc can really help with some revenue.
Mochas Coffeehouse
58:59
Thank you Karen
Matthew Price

Thanks Karen and Callie

We are in the process of filling out the SBA loans but the one we are filling out does require p&l’s etc?
aylascott
01:00:30
Ahhh ok so we should halt our process?
Karen Hoskin
01:02:20
Ayla Emergency SBA may be different?

For the short term, are any restaurants which are doing carry out service interested in creating a schedule of services so everyone isn’t serving at once?
aylascott

Gunnison is giving the option of deferring city sales taxes on a payment plan with no interest

01:10:26
We were not making enough sales to staff it properly when doing pick up
colli
01:11:53
Sales have been about 40% to 50% of normal. Have had to really strip down operations, are now staffing 1 per shift, so not cross contaminating with each other. Haven't done analysis yet with the reduced labor.
Karen Hoskin
01:14:18
Montanya is making surface cleaner and alcohol spray. Most of it needed now by the institutions on the healthcare frontline, but if any open to go restaurants need some, let me know.
colli
01:14:26
WOW! That is awesome to hear Sysco waived the minimums! Super helpful!
Mochas Coffeehouse
01:15:53
Same here. We've reduced hours to focus on breakfast and lunch offerings, leaving dinner to the restaurants that are more of a dinner option. Reduced menus options to try and be more efficient and we're doing special sales promos for food items that are nearing the end of their serve date in an effort to not have to throw those items away

I have several gallons of extra bleach, in case anyone who is open needs.

With the loss of March revenue , most have lost a significant percentage of the year's profit. This makes covering fixed costs for the balance of the year difficult and will probably necessitate arranging loans, which will be adding an additional burden on the business going forward. Perhaps, rather than asking our local governments to defer property taxes, water and sewer charges, etc, we should ask for some or all of these charges to be waived. It would be great if they would be willing to share in some of the pain.
Karen Hoskin
01:16:44
You all know you can send out cocktails in sealed containers?
