Hi, everyone. This is CJ from Vitalyst. One of our Board members is wondering if SNAP can be used for grocery delivery. If so, is there any particular outreach that is being done to encourage this?
Alicia with Wildfire
16:42
It is my understanding DES is looking into allowing grocery delivery.
Pinnacle Prevention
17:46
Arizona hasn't been approved for the online pilot for grocery delivery. So right now they are not able to if they are paying with the EBT card unless there is a wireless POS option available.
C.J. Hager
19:03
Thank you for the thorough response. I appreciate it!
Alicia with Wildfire
19:41
Any chance we know which farmer’s market can do mobile POS?
Kate Radosevic
19:52
We had a board member meet with the Governor today, and asked him to advocate for Arizona to be included in the USDA’s pilot.
Ashley St. Thomas
20:18
@Kate: Thanks! There is federal legislation pushing for this too, but I don't know how far it will go.
Andrew Sugrue
20:30
Do unemployment benefits count as income when determining SNAP eligibility? I understand the feds have excluded it for Medicaid/CHIP, but any chance this will apply to SNAP as well?
Alicia with Wildfire
20:34
Can you send the list out? We’d love to share it with our partners.
Kate Radosevic
21:45
Here is a list of all known CSA pick-up sites across the state. It does NOT specify which accept SNAP, but we can work on that: https://www.goodfoodfinderaz.com/news/2020/3/23/enroll-in-a-csa-near-you

21:59
Awesome thanks! It’s a start.

22:44
Is any organization tasking responsibility for getting PPE supplies to food banks and pantries?
Ashley St. Thomas
23:52
@Harvey: We have been looking at this and have asked Senator Sinema's office to intervene here. We understand that PPE has been prioritized for medical personnel, but food bankers & volunteers on the frontlines do need support.
Kate Radosevic
25:20

The Governor has meet with FABRIC in Tempe, a fashion incubator, to make PPE masks out of the right material. Homemade ones can be more dangerous.
