Do you know if the feds have lifted the requirement to have children present when they pick up their meals?
David: We will make it available on our COVID-19 blog
@lewissha, I haven't heard about the chid having to be present to pickup meals.
Under the summer program guidelines a student must be present to get the meals and for it to be eligible for reimbursed
Is there funds the schools to get reimbursed for cleaning supplies, hand sanitizer, mask etc.?
Texas Department of Agriculture said in call this morning that child does not have to be present to get meal under Summer Seamless Option.
Per my discussion with the state they will not reimburse me until they get guidelines from DOE
As of today,
Alabama still requires children to be present
It is helpful of fed can be clear on meals to parents. PA still stating student must be present for reimbursement and monitoring in place.
Yes today. I have not seen the documentation for Texas. Communicated in call.
Our Child Nutrition Director in NC has been cleared to basically just give out food to those who want.
WI has also said children do not need to be present under SSO
Guidance on the cleaning supplies funds?
Ohio has similar guidance. We don't want children to get sick just because they need food.
Our district has cafeteria workers making sack meals and deploying buses to various areas in our district for drive thru or walk up delivery. People who are walking up are doing a very good job of keeping with the 6ft distance. The kids have to be present.
Noelle and Elleka I just sent you a USDA document I just received

We have been continuing use of IDEA funds for wage maintenance of non-certified staff though they are not currently directly involved in instruction. Do we know if this will be disallowed?
