Greetings everyone. Just checking to see if you can already see my screen. If so, we are having technical difficulties again with no broadcast button.

Madeline Medeiros

Some of the prompts came from a student deficit perspective ("underprepared students", "very poorly prepared students", etc.)

I am faculty and serve as Co-chair for GP taskforce - a taskforce charged by and reports to the Faculty Senate. Our FS president serves also on the GP taskforce. I guess I am considered the campus liaison but our FS president “reports” to the state academic senate.

I have 40% release time for my role as GP liaison. I am math faculty. I interviewed for the position. We added two more liaisons at 30% who are counselors.

I like that idea Lydia of having counselors also be liaisons. They serve on the taskforce but not liasons.

I think we did benefit in that it is an artifact of our progress. We gathered in groups and were able to reflect and plan next steps.

We have a few students who serve on our GP taskforce and we asked for their feedback to the SOAA
Lydia Gonzalez

We had one student come to one meeting, we could have done a much better job. I think the document was overwhelming for the participant. We are focusing on increasing student participation this year.

Thanks Dave. I will give that info to Janet Fulks

I agree w/ Lydia - it was overwhelming for everybody but the students were very much overwhelmed w/ all the info

This is great. Just trying to get students involved is important. We hired students because volunteers were not consistant

The Equity Considerations are great, but it would have been helpful if the prompts in the SOAA aligned with the Equity Considerations and invited responses that addressed equity.

^^^ agree Madeline

We are a subcommittee of senate and multiple drafts of the SOAA was shared with senate before final approval. Went through without a hitch! It's because of great communication between senate exec and GP liaisons.

I completely agree. It was if they were put there for the purpose of checking the box, but no follow through is expected because there was no place for us to respond in deep committed ways
Lydia Gonzalez
01:12:45
What is the role of the students who were hired?
Lydia Gonzalez

Awesome, thank you.
