our hospital has prohibited Facetime saying its not "secure" and HIPPA safe. Thoughts?
Meagan’s phone
47:04
would billing with POS 02 instead of 11 make any difference on whether a claim would reject or accept?
CBiga
47:24
That is true -- it is FT is NOT HIPPA complaint -- however there is an exception in place that ALLOWS you to use any mechanism -- now that is CMS saying they will pay for this -- but your hospital can set their own rules -- but if they tell you it is not allowed -- we can send you the source communication stating it is used
CBiga
48:59
no it will not matter -- at least we do not think it will matter -- but CMS has asked for the POS 11 AND modifier 59
Andre Gauri
49:18
We have NOT been billing for audio only visits due to hospital policy. Is my institution "missing out" or are their pros/cons to this approach and a judgement call?
burktm

Do you have any security concerns with Facetime?
Akshay Khandelwal
53:35
We are an EPIC shop and have had success with both the MyChart video chat, as well as the Doximity app which I believe is secure/HIPAA compliant and very easy for both clinician and patient
David Cragg
56:27
if you intend to do a video visit and spend all the time getting patient signed up and tested but it just doesn’t work and you end up talking on the phone can you still bill it as a Telehealth visit using EM codes?
David Wohns
57:25
would you comment on metrics for a successful best practice program?
mzainea
57:44
Many codes

for employed physicians billing under hospital how can they have access to CARES Act Provider Relief Fund knowing that the hospital will get the funds while the physicians will experience income reduction related to less RVU production

when you state regarding humana etc ... do you mean just an audio alone phone call can be billed like a regular visit?
lcopus
01:07:18
If you try to complete a Telehealth visit (i.e. audio video), but cannot get it to work due to various reasons/barriers, can you do it as a telephone visit and bill the higher E & M code?
Akshay Khandelwal
01:10:41
Post-COVID-19, what % of our outpatient encounters will be/should be virtual?
David Wohns
01:10:53
Can you talk about operationalizing this and particularly the details of documentation that may overwhelm providers.

01:11:25
is the consent to treat for telehealth... verbal or paper document?
Robert Ross
01:14:28
Since this program is being recorded, will there be a link available later so the program can be viewed again? Thanks
Alice Betz
01:16:17

If you cannot enter a Patient room @ hospital due to PPE shortages and do the consult/follow up by phone, is it a telephone encounter?

is the consent to treat via telehealth a verbal consent on phone or written paper consent?
Alice Betz
01:22:13
Independent Practice - 42%; PSA - 16%; Fully Integrated - 37%; Other - 5%
CBiga
01:23:29
consent to treat verbal and recorded in the EMR -- we have a check box -- then we flag that pt to make sure we get it in writing on next in personvisit
bsofen
01:32:06
how is Athena in navigating the Telehealth visits?
Denise Busman
01:32:48
How do you handle patient resistance to engaging with the technology? We have a large number of patients that either don't have the right technology or don't want to use it for their visit.
CBiga
01:33:33
i have some practices on Athena -- they have struggled w custom rules and overriding them
CBiga
01:36:08
this is not a perfect solution -- we have found pts prefer being seen - even if video - but some do not want to be seen
bsofen
01:44:03
Might a wRVU based employed (by a for profit corporation) office based physician qualify for CARES act provider relief?
Meagan’s phone
01:46:04
thanks for all the good information
CBiga
01:46:05
No -- the payment goes to the TIN that billed -- so you will have to take it up with your facility that did your billing
