Morning all and welcome to the Basketball in Victoria - Return to Sport Update. If you can please stay on mute during the meeting as we have a lot of attendees. Please feel free to ask any questions in the CHAT box and we can either address during the meeting or take off-line in need. Thank you.
we have been adviced by the principal of the school we use that outside organisations are not to use school facilities until early July. Is this the case overall or has our school principal got it wrong?
Where do you see tournaments in all this?
is there clarity as to indoor vs outdoor sport risk variation

will BV determine what BV level we are at?
Thanks for that briefing, my question is why are we imposing restrictions on children at training and games when they move around unrestricted for 5 days a week at school?
Are there any plans to modify what referees are able to do - re ball contact, whistle use, number of games etc
How important is it for all indoor facilities to ensure our facility is not being used
Something we have been discussing which you have mentioned is push back from parents. Could BVC provide statement letters to support the advice on social distancing etc. for us to circulate to parents if and when we decide to train or play to help support clubs’ decisions?
is that at a rep level- 11th July?
What level of restrictions are we expecting to be in play around July 11 (20 or maybe 50 people per space?)
Using referees in some sort of bio-security role is not really feasible given that most domestic referees are young - and adult needs to be in this ‘control’ position.
several of the stadiums have nets and back to back seating with them. that will need to change as its not enclosed
WA example highlights a real problem for BV
Thinking of VJBL too with all this..
if the school facility is well cleaned afterwards should be ok
Can we get some examples of which schools have put agreements in place for us to use as examples? thanks.
the definition of enclosed space could really jeopardise scheduling, also flow on to spectator levels. many stadiums have three courts to a level...
ironically, if we can disinfect the school facilty afterwards, most are one court and could help re scheduling with enclosed spaces etc
Can you please explain the use of cash requirement for the Association’s grant. We believe that you need to use up to 75% of cash reserves. Is that correct?
Are the club forms available at the moment? If so, where? So if you have already covered this.
dog agility? hmmm
Would a referee commission/branch be eligible to apply as well ?
Silly question... Where do we apply? Is it online?
all on SRV's website
*sorry if you have already covered this
Referee commission can apply if its incorporated/company ltd by guarantee
Thanks for URL Ben
Is there any consideration for small country associations who don't actually run clubs but allocate all players into teams?. Technically these association are unable to apply for the club grants
Hi Nick - is it as simple as saying whenever BV say we are at Orange 50 then we are good to go?
Hi Bill, Dave Huxtable is looking into the smaller country association options to claim as per the clubs and will be in touch ASAP when he knows.
Example VJBL: 10 per team plus two coaches plus one parent per player = 42, x 2 courts = 84
with two parents...that is 62 per court. Tricky this exercise
I need to go to another meeting - give me a call if you have more questions
thanks all, need to drop off to attend another meeting
Good, that was the next question lol

DOES THAT MEAN SCORERS NEED TO BE 1.5 M APART
that an enormous cost
Is that for training too? Bio Secruity officer
Good question William, I've been thinking the same thing. Not sure that will be possible, may lead to accusations of cheating etc.
Need a sheet of Perspex between scorers!
in terms of club training. can the BSO be a coach?
meeting the return to sport guidelines will prove difficult for stadiums and scheduling, the numbers are in the RTS guidelines indeed, but it wont be easy to address these for many open stadiums which rely on 2-3 courts per space and tight scheduling

with only trainings allow on the 22nd it may not be financial viable to open up ? What the view on charging teams for trainings ??
Does the the safety officer need to be at every training venue ? our club uses 8 venues
Will the governments compulsory collection of every visitors name and contact be required when venues reopen (I'm assuming yes), and therefore I’m interested in understanding how venues are considering collecting every persons name and number on arrival in the small window of time between matches.
Were are at ORANGE 20 now?
some scoring desks don't permit it Dean, we will have to argue a best fit
Is there an online training session that all clubs can access for the Bio Security officer to complete?
should bio security officer complete covid 19 infectious training
Will BV help organise any bulk purchasing of hand sanitizers and cleaning wipes on behalf of associations?
Do you see the safety officer as a paid role ?
What is BV's advice on Associations running non-contact clinics during school holidays?
