The writings class #6 Ruth - Shared screen with speaker view
Mazeltov to all!
zoe what’s the significance of the “tenth generation” and which generation was ruth?
and perhaps more importantly, david?
Because rules are meant to be broken!
gives law more humanity!
restorative justice seems a much more nuanced approach to organizing human civilization
unfortunately, evolving justice like this narrative often doesn’t take place
So Messiah will come thru the immigrant?
why do we eat dairy?
what makes this book your absolute favorite?
if Ezra canonized the torah, he comes way after Ruth right?
Will this series continue in some way?
maybe what makes it so perfect is the blending of the two
I liked your points about Ruth accepting, with what looks like grace, the laws associated with living jewishly
that seems to fit really nicely with the theme
GRACE is a very important part of this book actually!!
ie, of the “restorative” with the “retributive” law
Is there any midrash regarding whether Ruth and Boaz had more kids?
why was Ruth sent to seduce Boaz? Is it b/c they didn't think he would be following the law?
