If I am in a different region, but missed that zoom, where can I find the recording for that?

39:33
DDA is posting the recordings here:

39:34
https://www.dshs.wa.gov/dda/consumers-and-families/dda-coronavirus-information

44:31
is this being recorded

44:39
I would like to bring up 2 issues today:

46:08
Hello everyone! If you are having technical difficulties, please message me directly on the chat feature, or email me at ali.alsadi@servicealternatives.com

46:31
Who is monitoring compliance to regulations at supported living agencies?

48:12
Hi Everyone, Chris B. here. I don't have a mic. so hello via Chat!

48:34
When are the special needs students going to be able to get back into physical classrooms?

48:37
Can Jeremy speak up a bit?

50:38
How many DD folks in Region 2 have Covid 19 & how are they being quarantined? If need to go to hospital, are Support staff allowed to be w them to assist w communication & support needs in setting where our folks are not known.

56:52
So proud and gratified to see over 300 community members on this meeting! Together we are so strong!

01:00:15
sorry I came in late can someone tell me what I missed thanks I would like the Power point her by email please my email is ematthes@arcofkingcounty.org thank you.

01:00:56
I'm working with some families who aren't qualified for DDA yet and have a few questions: 1) Is there a waitlist for IFS waivers and other services? 2) Is there flexibility about requirements for qualifying diagnosis if families don't have access to schools for adaptive testing, etc?

01:06:44
My son is on DDA, and has an iep. Is there any way DDA can help with schooling? The schools seem too overwhelmed to assist, and I need someone to help him. He has behavioral issues associated with his qualifying diagnosis, and it is not going well at home. How can DDA support us during this time?

01:07:39
What do families do when Case manager does not call? When the Advocate call left message, there's is not follow up.

01:09:13
If family members of individuals served are isolated in their homes due to being at high risk for complications. What can be offered to get their basic needs met, should they face difficulty meeting their own needs.

01:12:09
Our young adult , like many with DD and behavior issues,, is lacking the intensity and frequency of services needed -from Supported Employment, and from Mental Health providers. This reults in multiple needs: to the need for D and behavioral challenges is struggling without the normal proactive suppor

01:13:30
Hello, do you know if the stimulus check will put a person into "over resources?"

01:13:44
How does the extra money from the stimulus check affect the $2000 asset limit?

01:14:42
https://blog.ssa.gov/commissioner-of-social-security-shares-update-about-covid-19-economic-impact-payments-for-beneficiaries/?utm_medium=email&utm_source=govdelivery

01:15:03
I don't think the check counts as a resource for 12 months.

01:15:57
Is online FA/CPR training going to be acceptable for Supported Living employees until we are able to do full in person classes?

01:17:15
For Parents who are guardians for children above the age of 17, will the parent receive a kicker amount on their stimulus check? (both if the adult child is working or Not working)

01:17:25
Some clients may not be able to spend down this time due to not able to go out, etc. Will clients be penalized for going over resources?

01:17:29
Could you please provide respite care resources for families with children with special needs and medical conditions (CP)?

01:17:43
I would like to bring up 2 issues: unemployment benefits and mental health services.

01:17:49
What do you know about the suspension of rules for the Housing Authority; specifically the Section 8 requirement of residency? Our adult son w/dd has moved in with us during this time, but does not want to lose his Section 8 as the time exceeds what is normally allowed to be outside of his own apartment..

01:18:12
When covid hit, we were in the middle of an annual review for my adult daughter with disabilities' FOOD STAMPS. We'd sent the application but then covid hit and noone answers phones for the interview. Just got a letter saying her FOOD STAMPS are cancelled because "you did not complete interview." But we tried to complete the interview! Should I appeal this?

01:18:53
. Are these resources being translate into different languages

01:19:29
Is there a suspension rule on the timeline for submitting Audit corrective action plans?

01:20:22
Suggestion: Add a glossary in the chat box of all the acronyms used in this Town Hall. Thank You

01:20:36
Can you put a link to the new OSPI document in the chat?

01:20:48
Re Stay home Stay Safe… My son in res program.. How are agencies addressing need for staff to engage clients to do activities as games, etc (SeifHakim gave good ideas on 4/1 webinar) - a mental health issue.. as folks are isolated..

01:21:26
I will be putting all the links in the PPT in the chat after the presentation. We will also share as many links as we can at the end of the meeting. Thanks All!

01:21:28
For the people that are receiving SSI or SSDI, will they be eligible for unemployment under the new legislation?

01:22:41
In light of reduced services: How is DDA addressing: 1. Independent Providers increased responsibilites, including paying for this increased responsibility? 2. Need for additional behavioral support in cases of behavioral escalation, especially in WA state, where mental health crises lack sufficient support for DD youth, and adults under the best of circumstances? 3. What is being considered as Supported Employment opportunities disappear?

01:22:48
I’m concerned about me, a single parent getting Covid and who will care for my son, if I’m too sick to do so.

01:25:15
What regulations does DSHS/DDA have in place to control a COVID-19 outbreak in SL agencies as happened in a group home in New York yesterday. Especially concerned that staff are working at multiple houses within the agency and possibly in more than one agency,

01:27:41
I'm very concern because families are expressing that DDA case manager has been resign and nobody has being told them or contact them an I'm talking for the Latino community How the DDA is going to work on that? And, now more than ever they have huge challenge to communicate with the staff with the language support.

01:28:04
How many clients tested positive in WA state or Region 4? How many Support Professionals have tested Positive? Is testing readily available for our clients & staff? What kind of assistance given to Support professionals who often have 2 jobs in 2 settings as well as their own families?

01:28:25
How are our loved ones with ID/DD in institutions including jails and prisons being protected from COVID-19? Disability is not being considered as a risk factor for people with ID/DD who are incarcerated or in a facility and reliant on staff with no PPE.

01:28:39
This is LeVinh Tran. I am supporting the Vietnamese Families who has disabilities. During the COVID-19, most of the families are having a difficult time when staying home with kids who have disabilities, especially autism.Parents work fewer hours a week and can not claim unemployment, some of them are working part-time and now staying home and facing financial issues. The information about COVID-19 was out there but they are in English. Families need support such as Food assistant, Housing assistant, utility reduct payment, Unemployment. Are there any language assets or services out there that can able to support families at this time?

01:28:50
How can we get respite?

01:29:27
From a private chat sent to me, but meant for the presenters:How can we be certain our adult child's (we are her guardians) CORE waiver services are not impacted if we have chosen to temporarily take her into our home because of the COVID risks (she has underlying conditions that puts her in high risk category)? Her dad, her and I were all accidently exposed to virus by a caregiver and we decided to bring her home to self isolate with us. We have successfully stayed safe and are able to avoid direct contact with any others while providing exercise and verbal connections with others. Her agency is doing their best to support all clients, but we feel her safest place is with us right now. But we fear she could lose services. We are NOT looking to be reimbursed personally for having her in our home. Just want to protect her waiver and her spot in the agency she has for supported living.

01:31:07
Check with your local transit companies to see about service. This has been changing. As of this Monday the fixed route service in Thurston County will be stopped. Anyone who needs a ride needs to call Intercity Transit to schedule a ride for only essential rides.

01:33:47
From a private chat sent to me but meant for the presenters:What is the Process for the ETR?

01:35:51
As a sibling to a person with Down Syndrome I've been very concerned about what happens if he gets Coronavirus. Is there any data regarding whether or not his disability raises his risk of getting seriously sick, and by how much?

01:38:13
what's the wait time for response back from their case manager?

01:38:42
are there currently waitlists for waivers?

01:41:20
What can be offered to adults with DDD who have little or no access to technology for remote services?

01:41:47
Are these webinars today (including the 4pm webinar) being recorded? Please let me know where I can access the recordings?

01:42:42
From a private chat sent to me but meant for the presenters:I have a client very much in crisis that was set to move into VP. This has been put on hold due to Covid 19. Is there anyone that can help Service Alternatives make this move happen? The case managers are aware, but is there anyone higher up that we could get involved? - not for everyone

01:44:32
What about the NYTimes article yesterday about the COVID-19 outbreak? Can this happen here?

01:44:47
Link the article, Erin, please.

01:45:17
As a single parent, how can I set up back up support for my son, in case I get Covid and can’t care for him? He is on DDA waiver.

01:46:23

01:46:40
what are in home care agencies rules to ensure PPE and getting back to work after being exposed to covi19

01:47:18
are there any rental assistance available?

01:47:44
Correction: CarinaCares.com maintains a database of caregivers in King and Snohomish county

01:48:09
Two weeks ago my daughter was laid off. We were aware than she was slightly under the 680 hours, in the covered employment period (we think she worked around 650 hours), but we called the Employment Security Dept anyway for unemployment benefits because we understood that the rules had been loosened and wondered what that meant. What we learned is that they didn't have an employment record at all for my daughter. We sent the copies of paystubs for 6 years! We are still in the process of advocating for her but it looks like a long, drawn out battle ahead of us.Does anyone know what "rules have been loosened" mean?Is this just a situation in which my daughter is falling through an employment safety net including the COVID-19 Stimulus Package, both intended to provide economic security and aid?Any advise?

Families may want to consider opening an ABLE account to hold the stimulus check. It is fairly simple to open, you can do it online. It doesn't cost anything to open. I think there is a $35 a year charge.

01:49:28
couldn’t caregivers who lost work be able to delisved stuff to the Poeple homes

01:50:00
are there waitlists for families new to DDA who are just now applying and qualifying?

01:50:05
Note that the stimulus check is not considered income and will not be counted against resource limit for 12 months after you receive it.

01:50:28
There were some great ideas for online group activities given by Robin and Jamie from King and Snohomish- is there anyway to get some links to those activity groups? Or suggestions on how to get something like that started. Is using facebook ok?

01:57:29
thanks for all your hard work !!!

01:58:48
Does DDA have any webcams to borrow? I have not done telehealth, but now need to, but there are no webcams available online anywhere until like June. I do not have a camera in my computer and was trying to avoid doing it on my phone.

02:00:35

02:04:30
Situations like the one we are experiencing with COVID-19 can be especially challenging to those with DD/ID . When the people with DD/ID have medical problems, I think we can agee that they are entitled to the benefit of a full range of treatment options.

cont. from above) More often than not this thinking does not carry over, however, into mental health service. What most may not realize is the depriving people with DD/ID of the full range of psch services that would be available to person without DD/ID. may be violating laws prohibiting disability discrimination.
