Thank you!

Speaking of buildings, are you plugged into the BPDA's NZC Zoning initiative? This seems like an important tool to add the city's toolbox. Thank you for attending - we look forward to getting to know you, working with you.

30:39
I hope you include schools in your all of city approach as our young people need to be involved and prepare for green jobs as an access issue -to lift their families out of structural, racialized poverty

32:03
Regarding metrics the COB is planning to use for success of these programs... can we expect the City to make real gains in addressing the core problems that communities of color and low-income folks in Boston are facing, like lack of affordable housing, loss of open green space,, race and class-based gentrification, economic disinvestment etc? Short of that commitment, any GND talk seems like wasted time.

34:33
Thanks for that comment Oliver about engagement on specific projects at the neighborhood level

35:41
Great points, Pat!! I totally agree!

35:51
Fully agree. We should say, no tree down.

37:57
Pat - Mayor Wu also announced a lot of recent investments in trees: the release of the urban forest plan, and tripling our arborists and other positions - https://www.bostonglobe.com/2022/09/21/metro/wu-announces-forestry-division-preserve-expand-tree-canopy-boston/

38:05
We have 4 acres of a mature canopy that is in jeopardy of being destroyed Dorchester

38:21
There are several State projects in the City (Forest Hills/Mattapan/Dorchester) that are being planned in a not-very-green way. How do you plan to engage with the MBTA (it's fortuitous that you have a history with the MBTA), EOHHS, DCAMM etc.?

39:51
I'd like to hear a bit more of your thinking Oliver about the “ambassador" role you mentioned briefly. It seems it could help bridge gaps in connecting and supporting people to take advantage of programs. How might this work with CoB neighborhood liaisons?

40:29
Yes, over the last 7 years, the Emerald Necklace Consevancy developed a plan to support the Park trees that were not getting systematic care…we has been raising funds to take care of the trees in all of the Emerald Necklace Parks, from the Back Bay Fens, to Franklin Park. We have spent over 2.5Million, over $400K in Franklin Park in the two years alone…Long term, the city, state and federal funding needs to fund this and commit to this long term. How can we protect what we have and grow that? Are there ways to permanently endow tree care city wide?

41:57
Thanks, encouraging

44:56
Are green roofs and living walls part of this plan??

46:13
How are we doing on turnout for all these hearings and community input opportunities? Might there be a role for the Coalition to build more capacity in our communities to weigh in?
