I don't know any full-inclusion schools/districts. Some kids have more inclusion than others. In general, as a state we are highly segregated.
Krista Milhofer

There should be a mechanism for volunteers, paraeducators, teachers, and others to advocate when they see a child struggling. As a parent volunteer and Para I was told that I had no ability to become involved in another students education. Not all parents know what is going on at school.

On R&I, getting the data on intersectionality has been challenging. We know kids with disabilities are over-represented. We know kids from other diverse backgrounds are also over-represented. We suspect kids of color with disabilities may be the most over-represented, but I a not sure we have the data to definitively say that. I could be wrong though. They may have data now. There are advocates who have been pushing it for some time (disaggregated data)

We can look up the LRE data, by school district (LRE=how much time in regular classroom, with supports).
Hodan Mohamed WMSL
44:15
I agree with Ramona.
Darci Ladwig, SICC Chair
44:45
It would be beneficial for the first (or more) IEP included a parent support/advocate. IEPs can be emotional/devasting. You hear all that your child can't do.

Craig, I think the solution here is to fund culturally relevant training and information dispersal

Person Centered Planning is awesome. The facilitated plan is so meaningful. The most important part is the next steps (the execution) that come out of the planning. We must make sure that PCPs are done with fidelity and they don't become like the IEP (an item to check off a list).
Katrina Boik (she/her)

I am a huge fan of LifeCourse Tools! :)

I have tried to get information from the center for change in transition services. I don't get how there is any change being accomplished there.
Darci Ladwig, SICC Chair
57:30
Yes, why collect data if you aren't going to do anything with it. I think they only track a year out.
Ayan Elmi WMSL
01:00:55
not just the teachers but the IEP team and the school since they have the information before the parents
Donna Tiffan
01:01:40
I agree, we do need to have PCP's done by people not associated with any money/program.
Katrina Boik (she/her)

I have to run to another meeting. Katrina- there is outcome data based on agency linkages and the goal post graduation (employment, post-secondary education, ext..). There is a call that is made 1 year post exiting school to determine if the goals have been met.
