Do blended courses get taped?

A lot of people grade attendance. Is this actually allowable?

Is there being anything done to extend the 3-hour timeout in Blackboard for accessibility accommodations?

Perry, I put both my parts in 1 folder labelled "final exam" and made it clear in both announcements and the description/instructions which part was available and when each part was due.

@ Perry we also sent a message to all our students about the timeout issues with Bb. So they received this information before starting their exams as well.

@Don If you give them a PDF they can open the document on any device. So you don't need another file format.

How do you invite your entire class to participate in Zoom session?

Does the BB app have full functionality or should students always go through the NCCC website?

They can access these modules before the course starts?

@ Kathy you can just give them the URL for your meeting. You can email it to them through the course. We recommend just to use your person meeting URL so it will be the same for the entire course.

Bb online orientation is CRITICAL. I had a mix of rather savvy students to those that had no clue how to use Bb. This created chaos and drop-outs during Spring 2020

@Lynn no the Bb doesn't have full functionality. Students should still have a computer to complete parts of the course.

Are Chromebooks going to be ok or will the students need full laptops?

@Pam students have access to the Online student orientation once they have access to Bb

@ Demetrius we are talking about getting information out to students about Chromebooks for certain classes. You can't download software so many classes cannot use a Chromebook to complete their course from home.

Any comment on what happens to a current face-to-face class going virtual in the fall? Does it transform into "blended" or "online"? Is that our choice? Timeline for this decision?

Jessie’s questionnaire asked if it were possible to go fully ‘on-line’ . I answered YES, but I’d prefer a blended… that survey didn’t allow such communication, other then under “additional comments”
