Is there any assistance for Homeless Liaisons to help hour homeless students? The Governor's order stopping evictions apparently did not count for homeless living in motels. One of our students had to leave the motel a few days ago. This mother with an infant, a 7 year old and a 12 year old have no place to go.

Share with staff
Ashley Frame
01:18:00
Beth, I am happy to help you with your current grants to find some flexibilities: ashley.frame@doe.nh.gov We are also working hard to learn about the CARE funds, which will seemingly allow many flexibilties.
Lisa A. Witte
01:18:31
Is there any written guidance or information about the CARE funds?
Christine.M.Brennan
01:18:42
The Zoom training can be shared with staff. They will also record the meeting. The teachers need to know how to use the zoom tools.

Grant, can you send the Zoom confernence call link out via email?

01:19:16
is there any chance the state will waive some the number of required instructional minutes or number of days so school districts can all end on the same date

I concur with Ambrose.

Will NHDOE have any guidance relative to the proposed Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) being advanced to many (all?) of us by our local NEA teacher unions?

01:20:46
Regarding April Break, if a District has made a decision to keep the Break, are you saying that the Governor might decide that all schools must continue remote learning over April Break? Just checking-

01:21:23
Will the deadline for teacher re-certification still be June 2020? Some concerned teachers about getting paperwork finished

If we continue to pay for bussing through the end of the year, is this something that would be reimbursable through the CARE act?
Christine.M.Brennan
01:22:24
We will be sending the zoom link and safe practices out to all of you in an email. We plan on sending it to Principal Assoication and NEA and AFT
ambrose
01:22:50
could the state waive the free and reduced lunch requirements so we can feed families over April break if we don’t have school?
Jacqueline Coe
01:24:33
Our food service coordinator received notice that a state waiver was approved, allowing us to provide meals without a free & reduced application to all students under age 18. No one else in the organization received this notice, so I want to confirm this.
Erin Hagerty
01:24:40
Will the "flex day" be counted as time on learning?
Steve Zadravec
01:25:45
For Fed money does greatest extent practicable mean using service to greatest extent in remote environment (what I heard you say) or pay for no service? Bus company is looking for full pay for partial or no service.

Can we end the year for students early enough to be able to work with our teachers and administrators on curriculum modifications / summer programming that will be necessary as we look ahead to next school year.

This morning we heard some numbers regarding the FED dollars coming to NH. Did we hear correctly that there is only $40 million of the $1.2 billion that will go toward K-12 education? If yes, that is less than $250 per student.
Susan Givens
01:31:07
Based on a recent survey of IT Directors 59% of schools are using Google Hangout Meet, not Zoom. Can general guidance be provided for public attendance at our Board meetings and strategies so those of us not using Zoom don't need to watch the Zoom webinar to acquire this information? Also, will the state be providing training on Google Hangout Meet since the majority seem to be using this video conferencing tool?
Dean Mooney
01:31:09
Governor wrote a letter to educators dated March 30, 2020. It's very good. I read it this morning at a faculty meeting. The letter should be emailed to all on this call to distribute to their teachers. Thank you. -Maureen Mooney

Is there consideration for extended remote learning until the end of year. It would be nice if school leaders heard that before the press conference. If for no other reason than out of professional respect.
lalibertet
01:35:50
Is the DOE recommending four days and one flex day model when the guidance comes out?
Kimberly Saunders
01:36:31
Why would the Governor send a letter and not send it to Superintendents?
Lisa A. Witte
01:37:41
I do not believe the model is realistic to sustain through the end of the full year - we would need to look at shortening the year by looking at hours I think.
dlockwood
01:38:11
Respectfully, that doesn't cover one month of bus payments. We need to revisit this.
