Question for Helen: Do you know yet if there is a chance that there will additional flights to the US in the future? After this week?

Some countries have a curve estimated. Do we have any information about Egypt
surti
20:05
Is there any information for flights taking Canadian citizens to Canada?
Manuel Schwab
21:37
Question for Helen: Are we anticipating that after this week (give or take) of repatriation flights, there will be a period of blacked out commercial travel? I.e. is there an anticipation that if we don’t take advantage of these flights, we are grounded indefinitely?

There have been rumors of a shelter in place-type order to be issued by the Egyptian government. Can the American Embassy or AUC confirm any details about this?
Maurice Hines
23:44
If an American citizen with Egyptian residency were to fly to the US and come back can this person quarantine in their home? How long is this policy stated for? I’m specifically asking for people who might want to travel during the summer.
Elisabeth Yoder
23:44
Is there a system in place by which foreign hire could use the home leave system to pay for these flights?
Paul Desmarais

Alex Anderson

Question for Helen: The 1717 and landline EgyptAir number is unavailable/overloaded and of 5 of us trying over two days, only 1 was placed on hold and soon hung-up on. Besides going to the airport, is there a route through the embassy or another specified line available for US booking?
Shahira Fahmy
33:38
From my understanding the current flight is only one way, would AUC also pay for the flight back to Egypt?
Shahira Fahmy
34:58
Question for Helen: Is there an option for a two -way ticket now to the US and back?
shereen
35:35
Just my two cents addressed to teaching faculty torn between professional and personal considerations. In the ALI we are teaching our students who returned to the US from 3:30 pm to 10:00 p.m. to accommodate different time zones. It is working just as well- and feels just the same- as the regular class time meetings with the few students who are still in Cairo.
Jamal Haidar
38:03
Question to Mr. President and Mr. Provost: do you plan to stay on campus until at least end of semester? I plan to stay on campus, too, to honor commitments with students in anyway I can until end of semester at least. But, I would feel more safe if senior leadership is around as well.
Manuel Schwab
38:06
For AUC: There are still commercial flights to some non-us home leave destinations. Can we book these through the travel office and use home leave to book these?

Manuel Schwab

Zinia Rahman
41:35
Sorry if this has been addressed already, but what's the policy regarding renewing residency and work permits? Considering that all government offices are closed. Are there any other contingency plans in regards to this?
Rania Jabr

I was told those of us without residency permits (coming back from leave) would simply need to pay the fine and be reimbursed by AUC after the fact.
Paul Desmarais
