COVID-19 Coping Techniques for Breast Cancer Patients & Survivors - Shared screen with speaker view
Hi Kerri & Gina! I have 2 questions. I'm not typically an anxious person so this is new for me. (1) I have been working from home for the last few weeks. I'm finding between email, Teams meetings, phone calls... that I'm getting overwhelmed with work and requests. My boss is wonderful and has suggested I close my email and work on one project and then check it when I can. I also try to go for a walk every day. Any other suggestions for not getting overwhelmed? (2) How can you not get "wrapped up" in things you see on the news or on social media? For example, I read where in Italy (and someone in Canada) posted that they asked their nurse that if she was to get Covi19, what would her treatment be. (she's stage 4). the nurse told her she wouldn't get treated. This freaked me out and makes me anxious just typing this. I don't believe everything I read but saw that twice! I'm trying to get it in my head that that is in their country and might not be in ours... also, who knows what is true... seems to help
Hi, I am working from home too and find it is easier to get distracted. I devote a small period of tome for COVID-19 news on TV and that's it.
One question I’ve had is how concerned should I be about my partner going to the store/coming into contact with others and then coming home?
I am stage 4 and called my oncologist to see if I should consider stopping Ibrance for a short period of time; waiting to hear back. I don't think that she will tell me to, but doesn't hurt to ask :) I am very healthy- workout and run 4 miles, 4 x/week. I love going for a walk everyday too and stay in touch w/friends and my networking groups on zoom daily :)
Yes, very hard to stay focused on work at home, but working on a set schedule and taking breaks :) Thank you!

How likely is it for me to contract COVID-19 by going to the condo gym in the early morning (no one is in there)- I disinfect everything, but not sure if the virus can infect me from someone who may have been in there the night before, etc. It's a fairly small space. But, I don't want to stop going as the weight lifting, running feels so good.
You're welcome Alice! Ok yes I am curious too...as a girl at my work had a bad cold a few weeks ago and I got a touch of it, but went away then came back last week, now it's gone. Just really scary if I get COVID-19 and already have a minor cold..
I wear a mask and gloves when I go to the grocery store :) I have some masks left over as I wear them on airplanes too, so I am thankful
