Good Morning, All. Ben mentioned Microsoft 365; the Teams meeting works great for a smaller group (everyone can speak, share screen, etc), but we've just started using the "live event" feature for large groups where everyone participates in a Q&A (moderated), but there are multiple presenters (and producers) that can be shifted on/off screen with camera and shared screens. Teachers really like it. It's a good way to work where you can't have a lot of people asking questions using their mics. (Our district hasn't added Google Meet to our org.)

58:22
Yes, the live event feature has been wonderful for those larger group meetings and PD opportunities!

59:18
Agreed. The live event has worked well with PD and large groups!

A little off topic, Speaking of Microsoft, we've had an issue with one of admins using Microsoft Teams. She wants to try and use Teams on a Chromebook. Does anyone know if that's even possible.

01:01:35
Thanks everyone for your patience with the zoom chimes! Sorry for the distraction.

01:02:28
She should be able to use it online without downloading/installing the app. It's possible if it's a district device they've disabled the microphone or webcam (sometimes our district has done that associated with certain user profiles). If she wants to present in a Teams live event, I think she needs to download the app. But participating online (as an attendee) or in a regular Teams meeting should work just by opening it online.

Our Gifted & Talented camp students are receiving "camp kits" aligned for grade levels and above. Kudos to our GT group! Facebook Live has helped them to get the word out

01:06:23
@Cayla- that is a great idea

01:07:31
can any of these be available for us?

01:07:39
Our district moved to Standards based grading in the elementary schools at least 8 years ago. However, we went about it the wrong way. We didn't set the culture district wide first. This presented a huge problem we're still experiencing pushback from some veteran teachers who don't get it. We also didn't have an agreed upon Guaranteed and Viable Curriculum between the elementary schools. Again, this presented problems with different schools emphasizing different standards. The third thing we didn't do correctly is ensure the teachers REALLY understood the standards and the dispositions students need to meet the standards. We've been working for the last few years to backfill this knowledge and culture.
