You're welcome! :)
John Lee
41:35
is there a bridge connecting the across the creek
Alex Polimeni
42:01
Dog Park?
Mark Tway
42:16
Are “soccer fields” included in the sport courts?
Trav L
42:49
can you explain why the ordinance prohibits sports stuff? Who approved That?
Mary Vo
45:10
Did Highland Neighborhood Park precede that ordinance? I think they have some sports there.
Alex Polimeni
46:19
what will we do to maintain Retreat on Tech Ridge privacy?
Alex Polimeni
46:29
@ Tech ridge*
Brandon Strong
46:42
Is the row of trees going to remain?
Mary Vo
47:06
^I like the row of trees.
PARD James Wheeler
47:31
Thank you Mary and Trav. We will circle back on the PUD questions
Alex Polimeni
48:24
Trees are nice - and will help with some of the privacy and noise abatement hopefully
Brandon Strong
48:34
I love the trees, when they started marking them I got worried.
Cristir Purple
49:02
water features?
Austin Kent
49:38
Those trees are pretty bad looking though, maybe if some were removed so you could walk between the trees and it doesn't just fully cut the park in half
Alex Polimeni
49:57
Pool & Dog park would be awesome
Laura del Toro
50:28
I think as long as trees are planted/relocated we should be ok. I’d also enjoy trails and a dog area
Alex Polimeni
50:37
How's your dog, Laura?
Laura del Toro
50:49
Still at the vet. No news
PARD Justin Schneider

Alex Polimeni
50:56
I'm sorry, that's crappy
Laura del Toro
51:09
Thank you. I’ll keep y’all informed
John Lee
51:12
I would Love to have a pool for my kid
John Lee
52:02
D
Alex Polimeni
55:05
I can't get to the 2nd question, should I be able to?
Alex Polimeni
55:10
never mind
Sherri Gengenbach
56:01
Multigenerational. Need activites for all ages.
Alex Polimeni
56:56
not allowing to select a new option
Alex Polimeni
57:43
special needs kids should be considered...
Alex Polimeni
58:00
Young community - no one knows if they'll have kids with other needs
Alex Polimeni
59:58
who plants the garden?
Victor Vo
01:01:01
Afaik, community gardens are usually kept up by the people who frequent the gardens, and usually vegetables/fruits would be shared up/for grabs.
Mary Vo
01:01:15
^Alex, probably residents in the apartment would be interested.
Alex Polimeni
01:02:31
would water be available for the garden then? I didn't see water hookups in those images
David Lessenberry
01:03:00
I recommend we let Walnut Park be the park with open fields.
David Lessenberry
01:03:22
Skate parks are increasingly popular
David Lessenberry
01:03:36
Kids need to be able to have something to do.
David Lessenberry
01:04:20
I think water restrictions would prevent a splash pad
PARD D'Anne Williams
01:04:23
The Parks Dept. has a community garden program. There is usually a non profit partner that organizes the use of the plots. The design would include providing water for the garden plots.
Alex Polimeni
01:05:07
How are we going to control rodent and snakes in the area. this sounds like it will lead to more of both
Mary Vo
01:05:23
Are there materials in Vietnamese? I can think of some residents in our neighborhood who might be interested but they have limited English proficiency.
PARD Justin Schneider
01:05:54
Thanks, Mary. We would like to make sure this is accessible in Vietnamese. We are in the process of getting a translation.
Tuan Tran
01:06:50
My main concern was in regards to the prohibits of sport courts. Is it not possible to do a tennis court or even the smaller options like badminton or pickleball?
David Lessenberry
01:07:55
Another home run by our city council!
Alex Polimeni
01:08:42
Apartments are separate from the housing community - R@TR is the housing community. We have had some break-ins, etc that it would be nice if we considered privacy/security
PARD Justin Schneider
01:09:10
Tuan, one of the questions on the survey asks if people are interested in going through the amendment process regarding that ordinance.
Brandon Strong
01:10:20
The field as it is probably makes the creature issue worse. We see all sorts of things out there already.
PARD D'Anne Williams
01:10:31
Actually added activity is shown to reduce instances of crime because there are more eyes on the area.
Tuan Tran
01:11:02
Thanks for sharing that Justin. I didn’t see the question itself within https://PollEv.com/austinparks512
Austin Kent
01:11:22
Without a parking lot probably makes the park used less by those outside the neighborhood which is nice. Less busy for us.
David Lessenberry
01:11:32
Did you say it would be mowed twice per year?
Mark Tway
01:11:57
The road currently has no street lights.
Marco Pineda
01:12:28
@tuan i believe voting is over now
Brandon Strong
01:12:41
It's a great visual barrier between the neighborhood and the apartment complex. So the density they provide is helpful.
Cristir Purple
01:13:03
everyone will park up and down pearl retreat and it'll make traffic a nightmare there
Alex Polimeni
01:13:08
@Austin - or more people parking on the street, more car damage potentially, etc
Alex Polimeni
01:13:17
Exactly, Cristie
Cristir Purple
01:13:18
what about speed bumps on pearl retreat
Mary Vo
01:13:33
^Cristie, that would be under Transportation, not PARD.
Alex Polimeni
01:13:38
Traffic Light on both ends of Pearl Retreate
Austin Kent
01:13:49
You can't walk through the wall of trees now, it will cut the area in half if at least some of them aren't removed.
David Lessenberry
01:14:36
What is the nearest dog park to this park?
David Lessenberry
01:14:44
off leash?
Marco Pineda
01:14:46
@david walnut creek
Alex Polimeni
01:14:52
Stony Creek MUD, but its always struggling
Cory Strickland
01:15:08
Northtown MUD north of Howard when it used to be open
PARD D'Anne Williams
01:15:11
Walnut Creek Metropolitan Park is a large off leash area and trail
Cristir Purple
01:16:18
have you seen barton springs??? lol
David Lessenberry
01:17:07
That makes sense
David Lessenberry
01:17:18
gardens take a lot of work to maintain.
Alex Polimeni
01:18:47
Will you be working with DOT to address traffic concerns?
Raishad Maharaj
01:19:07
Will there be access from Bradbury ln
Kate Molina-Gallo
01:22:02
I want to thank you for hosting this session! I appreciate y’all taking the time to consider our input for the neighborhood park.
Alex Polimeni
01:22:03
The community is really excited about this thanks so much!
Marco Pineda
01:22:04
Thank ya'll!
