Screen, yes!

Question I have to Adrian and/or Tami: how you all have dealt with HEOA textbook provision.

10:18
Just wondering if you've found it difficult to implement your prior customizations? i.e. I know you shared code previously where the instructor name on the Section Search was a link to show their profile. Have you been able to still do this?

11:55
We have links in our current SS that 'authenticates' our users to a CashNet site as well as the Clearinghouse site, do you have anything like that setup? Im seeing links but wasnt sure about the authentication part

12:28
More or less...

14:54
How long you test before going live?

15:47
What version of ADFS are you using?

15:57
How have you trained your end-users? (Especially some of your less-technical folks.)

19:10
Did Cashnet or the Clearinghouse give you an ETA on when they would be SS 9.0 compatible?

19:45
Ive reached out to CashNet as well and am concerned they are still behind on getting something ready

20:00
I'm talking via the phone and am off mute but dont think you can hear me

20:05
Adrian, so you are not having any problems connecting an 8.8.* Self-Service web site to the 9.0.1 PowerCampus database?

20:23
asmith@mcny.edu

20:31
Do you know if the new coned module be released in November?

20:38
I can say we're using ADFS 3.0

20:41
Is AFDS required?

20:45
When is 9.0.2 expected to be released?

22:31
Are you saying you upgraded the database but left SS at 8.8.4 so you wont lose those critical customizations such as CashNet and Clearinghouse authentications?

23:28
Thanks!

24:49
Con Ed is on 9.02

25:00
Thanks

25:08
Carol and Jose were at CEUG and confirmed it.

28:07
902 will be delivered at the end of November. A beta is going out for 885 to our DPG tomorrow, and if you wish to test it, please let me know.

30:10
Carol - Will ConEd be delivered on 9.0.2 release?

30:15
Correct, for 1098T

30:15
How are you sync'ing users between SS9 and PC post-upgrade?

30:43
Carol - when can we see a demo of ConEd in 9.0.2?

31:25
Thanks!

33:18
The ConEd functionality will be much like what was in 8. It will include discounts. The larger enhancement piece was not part of the 902 release, but is something we're looking at for later in 2020 based on the focus group information we received.

33:54
I'm just curious what we're looking at in the background here. I must have missed that.

34:24
Western will be going live in December.

34:28
Cheyney

34:32
Landmark College

34:35
I think we're looking at early next year.

34:35
Landmark is planning for December implementation.

35:09
Hastings College is live as of Monday

35:44
College of Saint Elizabeth will most likely go live in Summer 2020

35:55
The schools that are planning to go live soon, are you using any customizations or 100% out-of-the-box with version 9?

36:00
Thank you. The themes look amazing, is this the new default theme?

36:37
So how do you get to the Sitemap now?

36:48
@wesovall, there's a built-in theme editor that allows selecting your school colors and some images. Very easy.

36:55
What specifically are you using to help learn a new skill set to understand the new coding changes?

37:29
We will be retiring many of our customizations too.

38:00
@adrian are you planning on keeping ss without customizations for the future? or learning how to customize and continue to add customizations to it?

38:39
We hope to leave many of our SS customizations behind also. The configuration options will allow so much more flexibility.

38:40
Thank you.

38:55
How much end user downtime did your school experience when you finally went live with 9.0.1?

41:23
what skill set are you looking for on you-tube? wasnt sure what to search for

42:32
CSL is also working through the process of learning how to customize SelfService. We're about 90% of the way through it, but still fumbling through learning TypeScript.

47:06
is it correct that the Dept Head tab isnt out yet? We have many people using the Department tab

47:37
I agree getting past 8.8.1 ASAP.

48:08
I think it's required for everyone to get on at least 8.8.5 by the end of this year unless they plan to code their own 1098-T report.

49:19
yep, thank you!

49:36
@rmathews: It looks like MVC and JavaScript will be good skills to understand the SS9 code

49:52
JSON

50:19
MVC is always good to understand with any web app.

52:04
Can you show where we map PowerCampus roles to Self-Service roles? Isn't it in another tool now?

56:02
@Kim - Lasell, there is no such mapping anymore. We were intending to use the new user management APIs, but we can't because of the ADFS domain name issue Tami mentioned. So we currently testing doing role mapping via SQL.

56:58
Oops :)

57:16
Thanks

57:36
Oh, good one about Profile. I totally missed that one.

58:47
omgosh thats a big one for us is the printing options that students have in SS now so they would really complain about that if its missing

59:03
Lots of great information! Thanks!

59:06
thank you so much for doing this!

59:07
Thanks everyone! All this information has been very helpful!
