Who can see your viewing activity?
Quick comment: Normally casks are previously used, although virgin woods are used in certain cases (virgin French Oak is the one I know for certain, Bruichladdich specifically has been doing so [albeit mostly in their Octomores])
what's the blog again?
That was very informative!
I love Balvenie Doublewood 12 years. What area of Scotland is it from?
It's a Speyside
Balvenie is a Speyside distillery.
What is everyone enjoying while listening?
Deanston 12 here
Excellent session - thank you!
(forgot to add) Mortlach 12 myself
Mortlach is very nice
Jim Place, Stoneycreek on Canada, Great job, looking forward to the next one.
With Covid-19 and travel and other restrictions, what is the scotch tasting experience like these days?
I've never tried the Deanston, how is it?
Deanston is probably one of my favourites. It's 12 year and is 46.3%
Lagavulin is my favourite - I always have the 12 and 16 on hand
Bowmore is peaty?
Bowmore is quite peaty... smokey
Yes, Bowmore has some smoke in it
(I was introduced first through Mortlach, followed by Ardbeg, so my views are a bit off normal)
Respectful percentage, any comments on the taste?
(for the Deanston, should have clarified)
If you haven't been to the Scotch Whisky Experience, I'd highly recommend it
I always add a touch of water, it's very smooth and has a bit of a dry finish.
Agree with Justin B
Deanston.. never noticed it. at LCBO?
Highly recommend the Scotch Whisky Experience if you're in Edinburgh
Also, definitely eat there... the food is great and the tasting menus are wonderful
I'm in Alberta, Deanston is quite available here
I've never seen it in the LCBO, but I'll make sure to take a look
Thanks for the presentation :)
Deanston is sometimes at the LCBO
