Hi Everyone! As you have questions throughout the presentation, please feel free to add any question in the chat here. We will do our best to answer questions in the chat, and will answer any remaining questions that we can’t get to after the presentation.
Nick Pellicciotto Pellicciotto
01:04:05
A bridge over the creek is something many people in the community are asking for.
Nick Pellicciotto Pellicciotto
01:04:23
Because connectivity into the park is already so limitied.
Nick Pellicciotto Pellicciotto
01:05:31
Wow, great news.
Rialto - Keely Rizzato
01:05:44
Thanks for your comment Nick, we agree that a bridge over the creek provides much needed connectivity!
wendy Kalthoff
01:06:01
It looks great.
Nick Pellicciotto Pellicciotto
01:06:20
Yeah, looks great, but the temporary parking—wondering how that would work.
Leslie Campbell
01:06:36
Question please: Can the temporary parking concept be integrated in the Variation A design?
Taylor Lucas
01:06:43
Yeah i don't like the temporary parking either....sounds like mud pit
Will Francis
01:06:58
Does Plan A fit a soccer field? The fields are used every weekend for soccer, and they are great stewards. It looks like Plan B can definitely fit that, but would that work with the original design?
Nick Pellicciotto Pellicciotto
01:07:04
Low water crossing—i think that’s a great idea.
Nick Pellicciotto Pellicciotto
01:07:22
No, the temp parking in the phase 2.
Christina Mann
01:07:39
can you say more about the temporary fencing around the kickball fields? It has been really frustrating to have such a huge part of the park fenced off. Will that effectively happen again in either phase option?
Nick Pellicciotto Pellicciotto
01:07:40
That’s not connected to the creek.
Nick Pellicciotto Pellicciotto
01:08:05
Would the temp parking just be on the grass?
Nick Pellicciotto Pellicciotto
01:08:10
That kind of thing.
Nick Pellicciotto Pellicciotto
01:08:38
Sorry, I was jumping around.
Tim McCarthy
01:09:11
How would the proposed pedestrian crossing of St. John's work? Would it be part of the traffic light intersection at Northcrest?
Josue Meiners
01:10:17
Would plan A fence off the fitness equipment that isn’t located closest to the playground/pavilion when the fields are in use?
Nick Pellicciotto Pellicciotto
01:10:20
Kickball is seasonal.
Will Francis
01:11:17
Will there be someplace to lock up a bike?
PARD Merritt Nolte-Roth
01:14:09
PollEv.com/austinparks512
Nick Pellicciotto Pellicciotto
01:16:49
do we only pick 1?
PARD Kasey Corpus
01:17:28
You should be able to pick more than one response for this question
Corey Seifert
01:18:08
Any idea the length of the loops?
Leslie Campbell
01:18:20
What is linear feet of the loop in Var A?
Nick Pellicciotto Pellicciotto
01:18:57
The loop is theoretically infinite ;)
Josue Meiners
01:19:44
It seems that prioritizing the bridge and opening up access to Swanee would solve the parking problem
Meredith Gauthier
01:20:16
How do you prevent access to the temporary parking during non-peak times?
Emily Perry
01:20:27
if soccer games need the most parking does the temp parking leave space for the game field?
Michelle Rutan
01:20:44
You might want to ask how strongly they feel about choices. Like both trails are great but I had to pick one
Leslie Campbell
01:21:26
I'm with Michelle on that
Rialto - Keely Rizzato
01:21:53
Hi Meredith, access to temporary parking would be controlled with removable vehicular bollards
Corey Seifert
01:22:14
But who would take them down and put them up (the bollards)
Rialto Yamile Garcia
01:22:45
variation A trail is about= 3,000 linear feet while variation B trail is about = 2,500 linear feet
Laura A
01:22:51
what is the plan for lighting on the fields?
Rialto - Keely Rizzato
01:23:12
That's a great question Corey on the responsibility of the bollards, lets discuss further during the open Q&A
Rialto - Robert Deegan
01:23:27
The primary loop only for the trail is 1250 LF in Variation A and 1700 LF in variation B
PARD Kasey Corpus
01:23:34
Emily P.: if soccer games need the most parking does the temp parking leave space for the game field?
Nick Pellicciotto Pellicciotto
01:23:35
The soccer “league” would have to formalize their relationship with the park
Michelle Rutan
01:23:39
Can I get more info on the fitness equipment, we are working on this for TA Brown wand would love to coordinate
Tim McCarthy
01:24:13
Are swings not already included?
Meredith Gauthier
01:24:25
Is the low water crossing on Swanee or at the park?
Will Francis
01:24:35
Is the low water crossing different than the bridge?
Rialto - Robert Deegan
01:25:09
At the park. It would be in lieu of the bridge at least for now
Leslie Campbell
01:25:18
We're not able to see the voting results anymore
Corey Seifert
01:25:57
@nick p - are the soccer games not formal? That’s my concern - that that group is not really in the conversation and they use the park a lot and are good stewards.
Leslie Campbell
01:26:00
Great, thanks!
Rialto - Keely Rizzato
01:26:01
The low water crossing is currently shown at Swanee and is different from the bridge, however we may consider a low water crossing in place of the bridge as well
Nick Pellicciotto Pellicciotto
01:26:27
You’re welcome to reach out to them to let them know what’s happening.
Nick Pellicciotto Pellicciotto
01:26:44
I’ve tried and they’ve been uninterested in talking.
Corey Seifert
01:26:46
I don’t know how or who. :-/
Corey Seifert
01:26:53
Ah, I see
Nick Pellicciotto Pellicciotto
01:26:56
Just go up there when they’re playing.
Nick Pellicciotto Pellicciotto
01:27:23
I tried talking to the refs and they wouldn’t talk really.
Christina Mann
01:28:49
regarding the soccer games- the park doesn't have the needed facilities to support the activity right now. I've stopped going to the park after seeing piles and piles of trash leftover. And pulling food trash out of my leashed dog's mouth one too many times. I would LOVE to see the league formalized and get funding to support that activity
Will Francis
01:30:50
It's my experience that the soccer players pack out their trash and are good about not leaving the fields dirty. They have been using that space for a while in my view treat it well
Laura A
01:31:20
I second Will.
Nick Pellicciotto Pellicciotto
01:31:26
With the soccer, they’re going to be out of luck for at least a year while construction occurs.
Nick Pellicciotto Pellicciotto
01:31:49
Who knows what will happen to them in that year in terms of where they go to play.
Will Francis
01:32:39
I don't know if saying they are out of luck is the best way to think about a shared use space for the neighborhood. Whether they return or not they are part of the conversation and many live here as well
Nick Pellicciotto Pellicciotto
01:32:46
Would al low water crossing be paved/accomodate strollers etc.
Nick Pellicciotto Pellicciotto
01:33:01
Will, please feel free to reach out to them.
Nick Pellicciotto Pellicciotto
01:33:22
I’ve tried and have gotten no response.
Will Francis
01:33:31
Will do Nick and thanks for trying as well
Nick Pellicciotto Pellicciotto
01:34:17
Do other parks like Ramsey allow for such large scale games like soccer without needing a permit?
Nick Pellicciotto Pellicciotto
01:34:37
oh yeah, that’s cool.
Christina Mann
01:37:01
thanks so much for having this meeting!
Rialto - Keely Rizzato
01:37:14
Thank you all for attending and contributing!
Leslie Campbell
01:37:21
This was great, thanks so much!
Laura A
01:37:26
Thank you.
Corey Seifert
01:38:26
Agreed. It was hard to choose on most things. Very recently we had nothing. Exciting!
Will Francis
01:38:51
Thanks for the presentation and the great info. Well done!
Michelle Rutan
01:40:21
Good catch with the bathrooms...oh man that many people and no bathrooms?!?
Michelle Rutan
01:41:05
Just one little unisex one?
