Tanya Rothe
02:23:48
Is there a reason membership revenues decreased quite a bit?
Luke Ramsey
02:25:51
sub contracting doubled YOY. Can I understand more about that?
Navdeep (HUB staff)
02:26:38
Tanya - Our membership manager was on maternity leave for the past 13 months and is now back at HUB. We are now in a position to put more focus on our future strategies to build membership base.
Tanya Rothe
02:26:50
Thanks!
Tim Welsh
02:27:37
Regarding sub-contracting, we needed to bring in professional specialists for Bike the Night, and our Research projects.
Luke Ramsey
02:28:28
tx
Mitchell Nurse
02:28:51
The website expense was $8k last year and $23k this year. Is this year an anomaly or do we expect it to be at this level in future years?
Mike Patrick
02:28:58
With MEC being acquired by Kingsway Capital is there expected shortfalls in the years to come?
Sarah Kristi Lone
02:29:30
Thanks Matthew for a very thorough overview - I haven't seen this thorough of an explanation of finances at any non-profit AGM :)
Navdeep (HUB staff)
02:30:04
Too soon to make any comments about MEC.
Michael Mulhern
02:30:56
How long has this particular auditor been the auditor? Is there a process to review that appointment regularly?
Navdeep (HUB staff)
02:31:28
@Mitchell - the additional website expenses were related to BTWW trip tracking and migration to a new server service. Both were one time expense.\
Tim Welsh
02:32:05
We needed to engage a professional traffic planner for BIke the Night, which was very costly.
Mitchell Nurse
02:33:27
Thank you!
Todd Mundle
02:34:15
Does the auditor within that firm change over time?
Tanya Rothe
02:39:23
You all did a great job on the meeting. I actually prefer the online meeting to in person. I appreciate all of the work you do.
Richard N. Liu
02:39:36
Out of curiosity, have you been made aware of this recent provincial grant? https://news.gov.bc.ca/releases/2020TRAN0135-001607Under the Ministry of Transportation and Infrastructure, this will allow local governments of small municipalities with up to 25,000 people to build "well-connected, accessible and safe, active transportation routes'...and "give British Columbians more opportunities to leave their cars at home." Not sure which municipalities will fit the criteria but applications will be open from Aug. 31, to Oct. 30, 2020.
Michael Mulhern
02:39:38
I wonder if HUB has a plan to improve diversity on the board regarding gender and race
Chantelle (HUB)
02:39:57
Appreciate all your questions and comments !
Kathryn Berry-Einarson
02:40:03
I have the same question Michael.
Anthony Floyd
02:40:29
Yes, Michael, great question.
Sarah Kristi Lone
02:40:37
Also have the same question Michael
Tai Silvey
02:40:52

Chantelle (HUB)
02:41:09
Michael and Kathryn, we'd love to engage you in conversation about this! Can you send an email to membership@bikehub.ca, and we'll follow up!
Michael Mulhern
02:41:37
Will do. Thank you.
Keith Lim (Burnaby)
02:41:48
Great question, Michael, and I would add geographical diversity too, i.e. more members from outside City of Vancouver.
Chantelle (HUB)
02:41:49
Likewise for Anthony and Sarah. Please connect with us, and we'd love to have a conversation with you
Chantelle (HUB)
02:42:19
Keith - absolutely, geographical diversity is an ongoing focus!
Corrie Bownick
02:42:50

02:43:27
Who will take a gondola in Covid times?
Shareen Chin
02:43:41
To second Chantelle's offer, please do contact us. Diversity in gender, ethnicity, geography is important and a strength for us. Looking forward to hearing from you! Thank you to those that voted for me! I am happy to serve another term for HUB!
Stephen DesRoches (Richmond)
02:43:49
Thanks for everything you do Derek and congratulations to the new Board!
Todd Mundle
02:44:07
The same who are on SkyTrain or transit would likely take the gondola.
Corrie Bownick
02:44:11
Congrats Shareen and all the elected candidates, and a big thank you to all who ran, we look forward to seeing you at other events!

Thank you board members and staff for all your hard work in what has turned out to be a challenging year!
Corrie Bownick
02:44:54
COVID will pass at some point (we hope) but the gondola is great infrastructure that will last a long time I think :)
Keith Lim (Burnaby)
02:45:34
The gondola isn't going to be a reality for some years in the future; we'll have figured things out better by then
Debbie Reid
02:45:44
Thanks for a well run meeting and for all the work board members and staff have done in the past year. Good night.
