These lectures have made me wonder about the economics of ceramics manufacture in the 18th century. Meissen stopped selling white wares, but Worcester sold to the London decorators and Sevres had a huge undecorated stock that waited till the 19th century. Did the factories in general have a larger capacity for first firing than for enameling? Did did some of them have such reliable markets for their own enameling that they could sell, even seconds, to outside decorators without undercutting their own sales?

any idea where the colour and the gold ( in powder) came from ? these components need quite an equipment to prepare

do you have any idea if the Preisslers were employed as court artists by the counts Kolowrat or were more independent
You mentioned that some of the porcelain ,which was painted outside of the factory, could have been Meissen or possibly Chinese.. To the untrained eye, How should you determine where the body was made?

it is most common in a manufacture to produce more white ware than can be decorated
