I have 10 children -- adopted at different ages, many as teenagers. All are children of color. Eight have special needs because of abuse and institutionalization. I am a single parent and because my former husband was excommunicated for apostasy, four of these children are not sealed in the temple. I took down the Proclamation from the wall. None of my kids were born into loving homes. To be honest, it makes us feel second rate. I don't believe our Heavenly Parents want us to feel that way. Plus we have numerous LGBTQ friends and family members who are punished by the language of the Proclamation. Maybe it is an ideal -- but really? I recently spoke to a crown of thousands and made a statement about ALL of us being welcome to sit around the table in heaven. Sad heaven is not for me and my kids. .

I agree that proclamations that state the extremes do not express them as the edges of a spectrum nor do they invite us to explore the ways to blend the extremes. My personal take is that these two extremes eliminate the possibilities of 3 or 4 or even more varieties.

Hi CharlesIf gender equals difference of kind then we can creatively misread the notion of gender to be opposition in all things . . . Otherwise there is no existence. Are the eternal gods stuck with humanoid forms FOREVER?Randall Paul
