Karen Costa (she/her/hers)

Relationships are consistently shown to be THE factor for student success. But I don’t feel like how we invest $ in higher ed aligns with that AT ALL and it’s annoying.
Nate Angell (he/him) Hypothesis, Portland OR
38:41
Amen Karen!
Nate Angell (he/him) Hypothesis, Portland OR
39:11

::snaps:: Karen, we need some strategic plans that center student success…
Jenae Cohn
40:09
And *mean* it
Karen Costa (she/her/hers)
40:19
That’s what I”m hearing from my faculty too. If they weren’t in that space before, most are now. There are costs and benefits to that tho
Nate Angell (he/him) Hypothesis, Portland OR
40:22
So relationships + in the pandemic, on one measure
Julie Neisler (she/her)
40:23
Pretty sure faculty and instructional designers and support staff just didn’t sleep for those ~2-4 weeks in spring
Jenae Cohn
41:00

Much of the conversation has been about the transition to remote learning. I have been teaching online for 6 years and while the transition to online learning did not impact my courses - what did happen this year thought, is the students have asked for more live sessions and they just want to talk about life not just academics. It has been so interesting!!
Tracy Balduzzi
46:36
sorry though not thought
(OLC) Angela Gunder
46:53
CANDOR
Karen Costa (she/her/hers)
46:57
And there are some movements to keep student cohorts together with faculty for more than one term
Karen Costa (she/her/hers)
47:07
