Stephanie, what percentage of interviewees were willing to pay a membership fee? How much were they willing to pay?

hi Trista, great question, unfortunately I cannot share that finding due to our research ethics protocols - we did find though that it can play an important role in additional revenue

Thanks Staphanie, great to know and I think that is a great way for SEs to think of to diversifying their financial revenue streams for sustainable development.

Jeff - great presentation. Did your study look at how much these organizations rely on goodwill and donation of time and resources to launch a social enterprise or income gerneating activity?

Question for maybe all the presentators. Moving from a funded organization mindset to a "profit-led" one has been one of the greatest challenges we've noticed in our country. How have they overcomed the latter?
Cindi Cisek
01:27:21
From panelists, do your countries already have unique/different registration status for social businesses, versus "for-profit," non-profit, or NGO?
Bizimana Stève Cédric
01:27:41

There is unique registration for social enterprises in Thailand. They can keep more of their profit and not pay taxes

this is a gray area in Cambodia and presents a challenge as for profit/commercial entities may be subject to tax increasing operational costs
Marcie Cook
01:30:21
I'll let Sibongile answer your question re: the mindset shift for PSI SA but across the businesses we work with in Latin America, Africa and South East Asia we have found we needed to recruit more business minded personnel but ensure they are "blended" with people that were the ideation team and drove the social mission and desire for transition.
Son Vo
01:30:22
Thank you so much for great presentations
Marcie Cook
01:31:35
and for registration status' we don't find a lot of markets with a special social enterprise registration. Interesting to hear about Thailand Steve. Most of our businesses are registered as local businesses or, like Ethiopia, as an Income Generation Activity as part of an NGO registration.
Thirdchai Sattayapanich
01:32:02
I would like to add more in Thailand for SE promotion act. the private company or individual who invest in social enterprise the investment amount can get the tax deduction
