Heather, I grew up o a cup de sac in Newton, and my poor father did have to—just once—drown a litter of kittens. He was a kind man, and never did it again, so we at one point—in Newton—had 34 cats!

I went to Newton /College of the Sacred Heart, and Maxine Kumin taught there while I was there--1968-72.. We didn't know how lucky we were, nor did we realize how special it was when she brought Anne Sexton to read!!
