How does all of this information about the brain play into the way in which schools are going to be operating as of the middle of this week? Is it a given that many adolescents will suffer as they do not have well developed frontal cortex?
Do you think that remote learning during covid19 will actually suit teenagers given they dont really start engaging their brain until after midday
Agreed. Thank you for supporting my thinking around the necessary changes in our education system, as it stands currently. Pleased there is other work out there to suggest what we are doing is not best for all young people.
most of my teenage clients tend to be contacting me this week later in the day
My son attends The Peace Experiment which is a Montessori Secondary School. The kids can start anytime between 8 am and 10 am. A good majority roll in at 10 am. The school is open till 5 pm. They may leave when they have done their work for the day.
Does this mean that they lack empathy or is that different?
Are they more eco-centric at this age?
Should we be investing more time in developing the knowledge of the self throughout their time at school as opposed to sitting them down and asking that really hard question?
Have you got some top tips about how best to motivate teenagers to keep them engaged in learning, given their brains are boiled.
Sorry, what was this researchers name?
Thanks Hana :)

I find it interesting that Savickas in his structured interview will ask young clients what they dreamed of doing when they were very young their earliest recollections ….usually those earliest dreams are very important.
