Free Webinar Series on Eliminating Chronic Back Pain and Other Common Disorders - Holiday Schedule - Shared screen with speaker view
Who can see your viewing activity?
Callie Klebanoff, LCSW
Interesting pre-meeting conversation
The neural circuit pain is worse than physical pain in my experience and very random.
I can tick every box in the classic TMS personality traits list. In your practice do you find that some issues seem stickier than others? Mine are perfectionism and people pleasing/boundaries.
Linda, I have those very same issues and am a classic "type T," too. But I'm very eager to change because I'm tired of being a "walking symptom."
Can you elaborate on exposure training activities to get over fear of sitting/standing etc?
My dad suffered from hypochondriasis, clinical depression, and anxiety while mom was frustrated and angry that dad didn't "positive think" himself well. Rumination and worry were modeled for me....how can I disengage from this conditioned cycle?
Callie, Do you recommend daily practices for those of us who are working to overcome chronic pain?
Also, you talked about whether or not we're living a life we want to live. What if we don't KNOW what we want? For me, I've had pain and symptoms for so long that I don't know what I want. I'm also "older" and have stopped having big goals and dreams. I mostly just want to be out of pain and have some peace and serenity.
Do you find expressive writing to be helpful and if so, is there a style or type of writing that you suggest?
Thank you for your expert and kind advice!
