MVSD 2020-21 "Return to Learn" Informational Meeting - Shared screen with speaker view
Damien Spears
11:38
so the school will testing be the students?
aimee
14:34
I know that the DOH asks for less than 75 cases per 100k (.075%) to have face to face. This would mean for a school district with an area population of 5.76k would mean less than 4 cases to meet those guidelines. You mentioned one recent case, should another 2 or 3 cases happen in the next 2 weeks, would the district reconsider the re-opening? I ask this especially due to the new increased testing that is upcoming.

20:02
we can't hear anyone
Joseph Weirich
21:02
How can institutions in the community coordinate with faculty to provide internships and learning opportunities for students?
Grace Ashford
23:39
Will students who choose option B have access to live synchronous classes with MVSD teachers on a daily basis?
Jessica Kelley
24:12
I would love to hear the answer to Grace's question as well...
Catrin Riggs
25:39
What will happen for remote learning in electives such as band/orchestra that are normally group-focused?
jennifer edwards
28:56
the shop classes also
Julie
29:31
So far the completely online option, will there be zoom classes?
Sarah J Schrock
29:37
will remote learning in hybrid A include Accelrate or Edguenuity
Peter Neitlich
29:59
Can students take some classes with option A and some with B?
Erik Brooks
30:22
So in a hybrid to remote transition — should that happen -- will formerly hybrid students merge together with remote students or will those two groups remain separate no matter?
Suzanne
32:42
Are those enrichment activities still going to be in the classgroups? ie. not exposure to "new" kids?
jennifer edwards
33:06
if the day is whole days how are you going to control students during lunch time or free time
Suzanne
33:07
(ie, cub clubs, classroom in bloom, etc)
megan schmidt
33:32
Can you operationalize the difference between B and C at the elementary level?
Grace Ashford
35:44
Is the curriculum in option B aligned with the IB curriculum in option A?
jennifer edwards
36:43
when will we know what the district choses for plan......
jennifer edwards
37:37
how or when does the new program get downloaded into computers? or get internet service
aimee
38:34
how to register for kinder or new elementary students?
jennifer edwards
39:12
if option A.....r u required to take covid test. and where is this to take place
Sarah J Schrock
39:31
will 6th students be assigned one teacher or will the deliver Hybrid A as a team more inline with on campus
Erik Brooks
40:09
Please clarify that there may be opportunities for sports to practice — just in case there are students unaware of that.
jennifer edwards
41:37
when will schedules/internships be finalized
charlie
43:50
will students who are in all remote learning options be able to participate in the after school or cub clubs?
aimee
45:11
What will bussing and transportation look like with keeping 6 foot distancing?
Suzanne
46:29
How would REACH (option C, k-8) support families teaching?
Geoff Tripp
48:23
Will all the teachers use one learning platform? So all kids in different grades are not having multiple sites to check into?
Jamie Preston
49:24
so will kids choosing option B be isolated from their grade level peers?
Jessica Kelley
49:36
Will Accelerate offer any chance for peer-to-peer interactions, or any live online interactions at all?
Jessica Goldberg
52:51
It sounds like if option B is chosen, parents will be responsible for managing the students as much as if they were fully home schooling? Why can't Option B students have the same degree of teacher led study as Option A? It seems like the district is trying to coerce parents to choose A over B...
Grace Ashford
53:40
Great point Jessica. That is our concern too.
Amanda Jackson Mott - METHOW ARTS
54:06
Very good question Jessica.
Jessica Kelley
54:08
^I have similar questions/concerns
iPhone
55:58
what does the screen time look for jr high?
Lurline Sweet
57:47
I hope option C could also attend a class meeting.
sara
59:03
I’d love to hear more information on option C in general.
Amanda Jackson Mott - METHOW ARTS
01:00:43
How will kids with special needs receive help more directly if you have not handled that already?
Amber & Brian McAuliffe
01:00:50
At the child care for essential workers, will the staff help students with learning on those days?
Katy Williams
01:04:37
what happens to school funding and therefore teacher positions if a portion, large or small, of students withdraw and/or choose option c?
aimee
01:09:09
What will transportation look like?
LEvans
01:09:24
does the district have enough chrome books to check out to as many students as will need them for remote learning?
Blue Bradley
01:10:41
Sorry if I missed this - is there any word as to whether we will get an exemption from the health department to make Option A a possibility at the start of the school year?
sara
01:11:36
I am concerned that if there is a significant increase in the number of REACH students, Katharine will be swamped as the only point of contact, and parents won't have the support they need.
david
01:11:52
Will Option B better prepare students to return to full time in person school when that happens. Will Option C do a better job of that. In other words, how in sync is Accelerate with district curriculum?
Jessica Goldberg
01:13:26
Is sixth grade going to look different than other grades at the elementary school in the A and B options?
Grace Ashford
01:13:57
Has there been any thought of creating online interactive options (like Slack/Teams) for option B students to facilitate peer interaction?
Geoff Tripp
01:14:07
I know you said the childcare option won’t have a teaching component but if school does not go back to in person, will you consider providing more of a teacher for the essential workers children in the childcare program. Since those kids won’t have the priviledge of being home to participate in any of the 3 options?
Will Halpin
01:15:48
How does the district plan to deal with students who
Catrin Riggs
01:15:55
^ I like Grace Ashford suggestion for Slack/Team/Zoom interaction with peers for option B students (and online days for option A also)
Jessica Kelley
01:16:23
Yes, me too! Would be very interested in organizing peer interaction for Option B students
Suzanne
01:16:52
When would we know if option A is actually even an option? (notice of the variance, because currently MV can't open as part of Okanogan County numbers, if I understand that right?)
iPhone
01:17:21
what would happen if the parent says no to the rapid testing?
Matt Walker
01:19:58
at the beginning of the call there was a question regarding the start date of school. could you clarify the start date of school - regardless of which option.
Kara and James McMillan
01:20:06
How would we know if our child was exposed to someone who tested positive? Or would we just get a school wide notice?
Will Halpin
01:21:24
How will the district keep younger students from breaking social distancing guidelines?
Suzanne
01:21:46
Thank you Tom
Kelly Worrell
01:22:52
Thank you all for such thoughtful and thorough planning.
Sarah Lightner
01:23:15
what is the plan if an outbreak occurs? what is the school districts plan for the mental well-being of the student body if a teacher/student/staff passes from COVID?
Jessica Goldberg
01:25:34
So it sounds like kids like mine, who are always sneezing and congested from allergies, can not choose option A
Keelyn Roman
