Virtual Homework Assistance using Zoom

47:53
Floyd Co. Library in New Albany has added Tutor.com as a free service to all its patrons. It just launched and we are excited to offer it to everyone in our service area.

48:06
One recipe for success definitely does not fit all. We have sites where the data and relationships with families has spoken for itself and others we’ve had to take lunch and show up to the school with sweets until the principal was sick of us lol

48:47
Haha - so true, Jamie!

48:48
Great persistence, Jamie!!

49:05
offering in-person ASC specifically for virtual school families.

50:34
Staff children e-learning assistance (trying to see how we can expand to a larger group but the multiple confounds of each childs schedule is difficult)

50:55
@Jordan Byrd - curious as to where are you locating your in-person support? In a school or offsite?

50:56
Helping parents utilize community resources as well as bridging gap between school and parents (especially for ESL parents). Example: Help parent communicate their technology needs to school

51:10
Working on same, hosting elearning for our members

52:13
We had a very worthwhile day yesterday. We had a Virtual Day for teachers because we are still fortunate enough to still be having school days person to person. Teachers had assigned virtual assignments earlier BUT parents had the option to bring their students to school and assistants conducted the school day. Students had the help of the assistants if needed along with all technology needs and teachers were available if needed. We then provided our Lights-On program at 3:00. Students were picked up by parents at 5:30. No stress for parents or students!

52:17
Virtual Tutoring and Mentoring for grades 6-12 from IUPUI website: engage.iupui.edu/IndianaKids

52:21
The JCC ASC has its own building, so it is offsite.

52:31
@ Cheryl Dolsan - great idea to consider outreach to ESL families during this time!

52:48
@Joran Byrd - Thanks Jordan!

54:08
@Dickie Dickerson - Great work Dixie, sounds like a lot of excellent collaborations!

01:02:38
Ashley, as you worked through this process are there lessons learned that may be applicable to other districts around the state?

01:06:11
How do we connect kids that have IEPS and Behavioral issues to a hub? That has been a issue with just a couple of our families. These kids need a one on one and its hard to give that support if we don't have that type of staffing.

01:08:46
Students can get referred to special supports through their school or school social worker

01:14:52
I was just in conversation with the social worker that we are partnered with and she didn't have good information. How can I get information that could be helpful to her as well.

01:18:54
I have another Zoom meeting to attend, but thank you for all of the support and information! :)

01:19:09
thanks jordan!

01:21:14
Sorry I have to leave for another meeting. Grateful for the notes that Monty always sends.

01:22:42
thanks Natalia!

01:24:45
What successes have providers had with serving children with an IEP in the virtual environment?

01:27:27
How do we access the related support services- Ashley what is your email address

My community is setting up elearning hubs, partnering with a lot of churches with empty buildings during the week. Is there any other communities doing anything similar and can share resources?

01:32:00
Thank you!

01:32:14
We are still providing in person instruction, if/when we plan to go to eLearning, we will provide eLearnins support/childcare in hubs.
