Cat, leguminous plants don't *share* the N that they fix with nearby plants, do they?
@Stuart, I added your question to the Questions doc if Cat doesn’t address it now
Do you ever cut your lawn or just let it grow all season?
Eventually, yes, Stuart. There will be other microorganisms that “steal” it, too. So it cycles, as she said.
Cat, can you please speak about how to best deal with large deciduous leaves - oak in this case - in relation to yards, increasing SOM on the grass, in the flower garden, in the veggie garden, etc..
Please add questions to this doc. https://docs.google.com/document/d/1J2xvICR5uNHvBmsJV4knLGRxCPq-LF1fu9y9jICviBc/edit?usp=sharing
so the plant under cover does not compete with the veggie roots?
Hey Cat - thanks so much! In a new raised garden bed with a depth of 20”, any certain “weeds” to promote?
I have a bishops weed issue. what do I plant to crowd it out?
Last year we grew onions with red clover and mulch about 5 : to either side. It was the same field we have used for years. Onion crop was poor. What might have bee wrong, it looked like the onions weren't getting nutrients.

There are resources at the bottom of the Questions Doc that we’ll share with everyone afterwards, including all the resources Cat mentions in the webinar
is it true that you can put rabbit poop in the garden fresh without composting it first?
Ack, what is ‘detaching’? Help!
Dethatching is when you rake up the old grass from last year that’s dead and making a mat on top of the soil
How would I establish a medium sized plot of corn for profit in a way that is sustainable and healthy in the way you are talking about?
What cover crop would you plant under fruit trees?
Do you let the cove crops go to seed? Especially buckwheat?
Moles have made pathways in most of our beds , increasing over the past few years. Then (we assume) that mice or voles are eating our root crops. Solutions?
Should we try to get away from tidy weed free paths between raised beds? With a bad back weeding isn't ideal, I was planning to do a cardboard path with wood shavings in between raised beds. Or what would you recommend? We don't till the raised beds.
Morag Gamble no till gardening
