Running notes once more: Grace Umaña - All In Energy (she/her) to Everyone (5:20 PM)Hi all, I am a Community Program Manager for Community First Partnership in North Suffolk, one of the ways we are trying to make outreach more personable is community based social marketing, our non-profit All In Energy supporting these efforts is working with the Solomon Group that is looking at data in priority populations to actually find the barriers & benefits for low income, non-English speakers, and renters/landlords to access the program. Additionally, when CBOs get involved and vocalize their feedback the idea is Mass Save is receptive to it for systematic change in our energy-saving programs that belong to us ratepayers.

28:18
oops haha I'm a mess today

Thank you Beth! Would it be possible to share this slideshow with the group or link it in the running notes?

35:23
Breaking up...

38:00
I don't see a link for the slides but here's the doc with the BIPOC priorities: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1CRCAdys2E_bA9u0nusYaaEUUjXvHvtY7/edit

38:29
Could please you share access to them?

38:57
Just changed the permission, I think, Gowri!

44:44
Anyone who identifies as a person of color is welcome to weigh in on the BIPOC group's priorities for sure- if the time doesn't work, please indicate and we can discuss changing it to a better time... in the meantime folks could send thoughts on the current draft by email

45:03
Alex, can you add your email to the chat? Thanks so much!!

45:26
What’s the total budget for the grant?

45:36
$121k

45:44
thanks!

45:45

46:59
alex@economicdemocracy.us (though to be clear I'm not a designated point of contact for the BIPOC group!) Gail from CSNDC and maybe Kai from HEET have played more of a convening role

48:51
Please be sure to add your name, email & other information you'd like to our spreadsheet of Coalition members here: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1Y2i2p6rBab_uSmJLIJU01yWvMO-al7UuTo1qRPD8C0c/edit?usp=sharing

48:53
You can also add your name to the list for the BIPOC Leadership Team under the "Working Groups" tab (but should probably still email some members of the group to let them know you'd like to join)

58:53
Hear you on that Nick

That's a great point Nick, I think it would be worthwhile to talk about how to push Wu further

01:00:52
yes Sophie I've been thinking about this as well

01:02:29
The Boston Teachers Union had a meeting with the city and BPS people leading the $2M investment in BPS. Our goal is to make these meetings a regular event which will ensure school communities have significant input into the planning process. I think this is likely….though not without continued vigilance.

01:08:15
Some news relative to waterfront development in Boston and indeed all of MA - as this is a ruling on state policies/law - it will impact a lot of the coastal resiliency projects and development along Boston's waterfront:https://www.clf.org/newsroom/ma-supreme-judicial-court-rules-for-clf-in-municipal-harbor-plan-case/

01:09:09
Hmmm... that seems very related to the resilience hearing in City Council that Lydia mentioned

01:09:53
I'm curious if the coalition, esp those connected to neighborhood housing, can encourage Boston applicants for the MassCEC Triple Decker Retrofit Pilot grants, affordable and market-rate tracks https://www.masscec.com/program/triple-decker-retrofit-pilot.

01:12:28
Thx Curt! We'll look into it and include it in our outreach.

01:13:52
Environment Dept is working with One Square World on the community sessions for phase 2 of BERDO regulations

01:17:03
I wish we or the City could issue and keep updated a leaflet that tells people exactly how to solarize, roof hot water, other self-energy installs - and exactly what it costs - as well as electric vehicles and chargers, what they cost and what they save. We have had rooftop solar and an electric car for a long time and the cost was high but with subsidies and savings over the years, it's been a gold mine.

01:18:20
People seem to get info from either ads or from very short press articles - and those are not convincing or very helpful.

Executive branch has SO much power and influence over what actually happens - so true Judith!

01:28:00
Exactly Danny- one key ask is a menu of options that can cross agency lines... but the White HOuse OMB and CEQ are telling us it's too complicated

01:29:10
Thanks, going to leave now

01:29:16
Thanks Lydia!

01:29:25
Thank you everyone!
