Interesting to note that hydrogen produced from Australian grid power has much higher emissions intensity than hydrogen from methane or coal (even without CCS). The ARENA projects can use grid power and buy LGCs, which still relies on cheap fossil fuel power for times when renewable resources are not available. Fully renewable hydrogen is possible now but the costs are much higher than the $6/kg that CSIRO's graph indicates because you don't fully utilise your electrolyser.
