I noted a Facebook breach and XKCD, a web comic website was also breached.

Uber was also in the headlines over a breach in the UK, they received a large fine today.

Cursory glance at that one, it was much smaller than the one previously reported earlier this year

Costly fines depending on your industry Patricia!

Even small organizations can have many jurisdictions to consider when looking at the local, state/territory, country, and multinational body requirements... that's in addition to the regulations that are specific to your industry.

I love that, "temporary custodians of PII data", that's a great phraseology in explaining new privacy requirements.

"Information can have dimensions - attachments, comments, track changes." <- Are we all considering these aspects?

There's an interesting case study on financial services that's cited in the new Essentials of Information Governance training course that talks about the number of applications in the typical financial services firm.

Spoiler alert: the average bank has over 900 applications in use.
