I appreciated the additional funding by the mayor for the House Production Trust Fund for deeply affordable housing. I was disappointed with the $22 million for public repairs and would ask and urge $60 million for the Mayor to support additional funding for repairing public housing through the DC Housing Authoirty.

Are the captions right? He just said “It is a government asset”?
Robb Dooling 6A06
42:42
did he reply to my question?
Kris Garrity (they/them)
43:11
yeah police don't prevent or combat crime
Kris Garrity (they/them)
43:24
Commissioner Dooling no i don't believe so
Daniel Aboagye
43:51
also wanted to disagree with the policing funding comment. the city’s resources are best used elsewhere
Marc Friend (He/Him)
44:13
Agree as well, violence prevention programs, housing etc. are better use then police
Kris Garrity (they/them)
47:28
agreed Marc and Daniel. thank you for naming that
Daniel Aboagye
48:23
The data shows that most types of crime have actually decreased in DC during the pandemic while there has been an increase in homicides that it part of a nation-wide trend. as such it makes more sense for the police to focus on investigations and detectives rather than beat-cops patrolling the community. The “summer crime initiative” is racist.

Kris Garrity (they/them)
01:42:15

Daniel Aboagye
02:05:18
I support Comm. Chatterjee’s amendment. thank you for saying something.
Marc Friend (He/Him)
02:05:26
Second Daniel's comment
Marc Friend (He/Him)
02:05:35
we should remove it from the agreement
Marc Friend (He/Him)
02:09:07
all cannibas products are legal in dc per DC law, just cant sell specific prodcuts but can include it in other offerings
Daniel Aboagye
02:12:25
agreed. there’s no reason to include things already covered by dc statute unless to prevent the business from taking advantage of favor
Daniel Aboagye
02:12:38
-able legal changes toward cannabis
Daniel Aboagye
02:13:15
-that may occur in the future.
Michaela F
02:13:55
Isn’t it an assumption that illegal products and acts are not accepted in such an agreement?
Marc Friend (He/Him)
02:14:50
marijuana due to prop. 71 is legal. congress blocked DC from getting tax revenue. DC allows companies to give marijuana as a gift but not explcitily sell it. other marijuana related products such sa CBD are fully illegla
Marc Friend (He/Him)
02:14:55
*legal
Daniel Aboagye
02:15:31

@Daniel, Michaela, Marc- I agree with everything you are saying, but wanted to find a way forward, and restating the law seems fine if it makes folks feel better.
Daniel Aboagye
02:19:46
try to wordsmith it to not include the word “cannabis” at all if you can. thank you Keya
Marc Friend (He/Him)
02:20:27
Thank you Comm. Chatterjee
Daniel Aboagye
02:28:32
when Chander says “we” does this mean that Chander is a part of the business ownership/management? I thought at previous meetings, Chander has said he was unaffiliated.
Chander Jayaraman
02:29:35
I am not part of the ownership or management of the establishment
Daniel Aboagye
02:29:35
ok thanks for clarifying
michael cushman
02:31:10
This application still has errors in measurement. And is inconsistent (is the size 28 or is it 34 feet in depth? The building front to curb is 51 feet yet his submitted drawings show depth of building to curb at 55 feet.
Liz Lyons
02:33:22
Do those patios exist in residential areas with a bus stop AND a bike area?
Daniel Aboagye
02:34:41
Every foot of the patio that is given is being permitted at the permission of the community from which it is being taken
Daniel Aboagye
02:35:11
this space is a public space that belongs to the people
michael cushman
02:38:28
Please lock in a contingent opposition in case of no delay.
Daniel Aboagye

Can ANC 6A send a letter calling for deep affordable housing at reservation 13?
Keya Chatterjee 6A01
03:14:24
Great idea! Something to bring up at the next EDZ committee?
Marc Friend (He/Him)
03:15:08
Would strongly support that
Amber Gove 6A04
03:15:59
I think the deadline for comments is this week, but we can ask EDZ to check and if not add the item to their agenda. I plan to send my own comments this week by the deadline.
Robb Dooling 6A06 (he/him)
03:16:26
I would strongly support that too! The next EDZ meeting is Wednesday, June 16 and I won’t be able to go I can help draft if we end up writing a letter on that
Keya Chatterjee 6A01
03:19:10
