In Grand County: We are trying transfer our part time employees to the Senior Center to do grocery drop-offs for Seniors and those who can't make it to the grocery stores. Our library was doing a free lunch program before and they have continued for pick up only now that they are closed.
We have halted all recruitments except essential, no pt paid leave at this time but offering alternative jobs to do to continue being paid.
Eagle Mountain City: we have closed all our office buildings to the public
Grand County has closed the county offices to public, unless previously scheduled appointments.
SJC City Hall is still open - we closed the Fitness Center, Gale Center, and Community Center (other than providing sack lunches for seniors)
Sandy City: our City Hall is still open and we're running skeleton crews. Everyone else is working from home.
David - How do you handle public input for City Council meetings?
Spanish Fork is still open. We have tried to discourage the public to coming to the city offices by giving other options to take care of their need. We will accompdate anyone that feels they need to work from home. We have a cleaning schedule and clean our office building everyon 2-3 hours.
SJC allowed departments to authorize work from home by marking on a spreadsheet with all employees yes or not, and if yes how many hours. HR will start remote work tomoroww, only 2 in the office.
Draper City still open with limited staff. The public have to make an appointment to meet one on one with staff or do business online, by phone or email.
Vernal City is still open
We have an employee Intranet for employees with all new information
Our EAP is available 24/7 during this time
On Public Comment - submit 24 hours before meeting to City Recorder. Read into record.
EAP messages regularly
we have an employee assitance program as well. We are very small so we are trying to keep everyone calm and talk through concerns.
We shut down our compost sales because of the danger of transmission through cash.
Clearfield City is still open with limited staffing.
Our senior staff is using Basecamp to share regular information on COVID-19. Great project management software.
We are using Microsoft Teams to hold meetings, public or just staff.
SJC EOC was activated so we do regular check-ins too. Employees here, working remotily, off work, sick, etc.
Draper Dept Heads have a daily 9:00am conference call with City Manager and Mayor.
Hazel - is that just phone conference calls? or video conference?
Right now it's a phone call
Eagle Mountain City: We had a department head meeting through video chat today. Encourage department heads to speak to their employees daily. Email from HR to all employees every couple of days making sure employees are aware of any changes. Reassuring them that we will let them know about anything concerning. So far so good. Employee morale good under the circumstances. No complaints from residents yet, which is surprising.
Dept heads also have a text group. this morning after earthquake within minutes we had all reported in on status of employees and facilities
Text, emails, Microsoft teams, Skype Business
I had to jump off. Sorry. Thanks for the call.
I am recording this and will post it later.
Thank you, David! :-)
