I had the same reaction with the second dose of the new shingles vaccine. Flu-like symptoms which abated after 24 hours.
joanne levin

Statistically more people had reactions to the second dose, but that is not true of everyone.
Kate Kelly she/her

Lorie

Can you explain why type 2 but not type 1 diabetes is a comorbidity.
Nina Kleinberg
51:12
There is a general feeling that Western Mass. has been left behind with less vaccine available compared to the Eastern part of the State. Can someone please address this?
Stefanie Krantz
51:14
If someone meets the criteria under Phase 1 and filled out an application for the Senior Center clinic. When should they expect to get contacted to schedule an appointment.
Susan Stinson
56:26

joanne levin
57:14
The cdc recommends that the second dose be given as close to on time as possible
zakiah
57:22
The problem with vaccination sites is that each one has it’s own platform so information entered goes away if the site has no appointments. I spent about 5 hours to get an appointment because of these issues. There needs to be a central registry so one can get signed up at all sites.
hasbanydick@gmail.com
57:31
Who can go to a mass vaccination site like in Springfield? Anyone?
joanne levin
57:54

The registration form doesn't ask for an email address, but indicates that we'll be notified by email.
joanne levin
01:00:08
Yes, each of the hospital systems will be reaching out to their patients to register when they are eligible
Marci L
01:00:26
@Joanne Levin, they have broken out Type 1 and 2 diabetes in the lists. Type 1 is an increased risk, but not considered a comorbidity in the same way Type 2 is, which is curious
BarbaraDiamondGoldin
01:00:48
If we're with a Cooley Dickinson partner doctor should we wait until our physician contacts us
Lisann Giordano
01:01:28
Could you please list other places that are doing a waitlist ?
joanne levin
01:01:47

01:06:29
College educators who teach in person aren’t included with educators, are they?
Judy Lewis
01:07:21
I attended our State Senator's webinar where it was said that public health departments are not being allocated enough vaccine compared to CVS. Is this still the case? Is there anything we can do about this?
joanne levin
01:07:27
It is still unclear whether those who are vaccinated can spread the virus. It may be possible, so right ow those who have been vaccinated still need to mask, distance, etc.
Lisann Giordano
01:07:29
Could you please let me know when I would need to bring to verify my comorbidity
Carolyn Sailer (she/her)

Frequently asked questions: 1) how to show evidence of comorbidities 2) when will people who are 65+ be able to register for the vaccine? Is there a timeline? Also -Where will this recording be available so we can point people to the recording? The information is very helpful. Thank you
amybleiweiss
01:12:03

Alex Risley Schroeder

It appears that Amherst is only doing Phase One, and has no waiting list. Is this correct?
Lori Divine-Hudson
01:13:02
My 96 year old mother lives with me and is not mobile. Her doctors office doesn’t have it yet, hospice doesn’t have it for their patients. Do you have any people that can go to homes to vaccinate those that can’t out and are in Phase 1?

I get a weird reaction to flu vaccine—temp >105F, shaking chills for about 6 hr, then all better; happened twice, then tylenol and benadryl kept it down to 101F. Are there any suggestions that this might happen with this vaccine—identical materials as vehicles or adjuvants, for example?
joanne levin
01:22:29
Imnot sure, but I think flu vaccine may have sorbitol in it. I would check with an allergist if you have had a severe reaction to flu vaccine
joanne levin
01:22:57
*polysorbate
Carrie Southwick
01:23:35
Odd question...I thought I read that folks working in manufacturing fall into the second phase? I work for a company that makes a product that is used on the vials of the vaccine. Do our employees need show proof of this if this is correct?
Lisann Giordano
01:24:59
Any info about higher ed folks being added to phase 2 ?

Amy Hutchins
01:41:15

For the 65 and over waiting list, should I have received a confirmation or not until it's time to make an appointment? Is there any way to know for sure that I'm on the waiting list?
Marci L
01:44:52
Will those of us who signed up for the waitlist for the second bullet point of Phase 2 get an email confirmation to let us know that we are now on the waitlist?
Kelly
01:45:03
At this time an email is not sent when you register for a specific waitlist.
Amy Hutchins
01:46:24
thanks kate!!
Lynne Shapiro
01:46:28
Is there any special category for other workers who go into people's homes - e.g., plumbers, other repair people. Or are they just in Phase 3 if they don't otherwise qualify for an earlier phase?
emilyschmalzer
01:46:38
me too. A centralized website that would tell which venues in the area are active. That would stop some of us futilely trying to contact CVS or BigY, for example. Also tell us where the venue is in scheduling , so we can know whether to pursue scheduling with you.
Rachael Naismith
01:46:43
Could you send those emails retrospectively, Kate? So we know we are on waiting list (I think I am).
Joanne Corbeil-Harper
01:47:05
it seems college students fall into the general public phase? In person colleges with residential students, dining together as well as in person classes for this group who additionally go to different states for school. Seems this group would reduce cases and spread.
