So you know you want to make a change just not diet
You'd like to avoid knee surgery and losing weight could help you
It sounds like you might be interested in losing weight.
so let's talk more about some of the good things that may happen if you could lose some weight. sorry i can't type fast lol
I've seen this video before and the nurse is coming off very harsh. she almost accusing mom of not doing what she needs to do for the baby. she's not asking questions, she's saying "I need you to..." "if you don't do this. it will be your fault when this happens..."
I agree, this is not very professional
mom won't be open to listening to that. she will close down immediately
can we come up with ideas
What things that you have considered
Have you ever tried meal planning?
so meal planning is one strategy
What benefits could a lower AC1 give you
It seems that like that is something your interested in doing
this has been very hard for you
says she is listening
instead of maybe making the mom feel attacked
she cares about her baby
acknowledge that she is making an effort
you care about his health and have been making changes
You are trying, you care for your son's health
It sounds like you’ve really thought about how to keep him safe
That's a great first step, smoking away from him means you care
3. Ends up with the change. Can continue discussion along those lines.
one. it is simple short and gets to the desire to be with their friend.
number 3 may make the student feel like you understand them, can relate to their feelings
I feel like 3 adds more information than they communicated
tell me more about what smoking means to you
Does anyone who cares for Aiden smoke?
When the patient says that she knows smoking is bad the physician could respond: You care about Aiden's exposure to smoke. Can you tell me more about why?
Our group came up with "I hear that you understand that smoking is unhealthy, what were some of the barriers that have prevented you from quitting?"
Talking to her about all environmental exposures and then discuss smoking
It can be a myriad of issues as well
Open ended questions to determine my barrier without using the term barrier.
Sorry, I have to jump off for another call. Thanks much!
