Thank you for bringing us together, Becky. It's so good to be connected as a group.

Can it be confirmed in writing that the Comp. Ed meetings can be held up until Nov. 15 as this is the date that you have mentioned in previous calls.
Melissa Gray
08:27
With the most recent NHSEIS update, the accommodations section of the IEP was wiped out. They have to be re-entered. Further they do not print if there is more than one page. Modification do not print at all.

If you have hybrid and remote options for parents and the parent chooses remote for specific reasons… if we make them aware of the option for in person but the parent does not want to access do we need to document in some way
Stacey Eaton
12:06
With NHSEIS updates parents are now asked to sign for placement twice. The placement is now combined with the IEP signature and then they sign again on the placement page.

I have reviewed the OSEP website and can not find guidance on LRE and remote learning. You mentioned that you worked with the Governor and OSEP on this executive order, can you direct us to any OSEP documents that would assist us? I don't want this executive order to be interrupted that parents believe the must make a special education referral so that they can get in person services.

Hi all,
Helen Rist
14:45
Becky, thank you for your efforts:)
Jeanette Souther - Portsmouth
14:48
if the team determines comp ed service IS necessary - do we amend the IEP or just document through WPN?
Melissa Gray
14:53
As a follow up, can you retrieve the data?
Mandie Hibbard
15:47
Just to clarify...Helen wrote that Comp Ed Meetings needed to be held by Nov. 15th...isn't it that decisions can be made by Nov. 15th, but the meetings themselves are still 30 days after the start of the year? Just want to make sure I'm understanding it correctly.
Caroline Arakelian
15:49
I second the need for the Nov 15th permission for delay of meeting (upon parent request). This has mounting pressure due to EO#65 regarding the potential misdemeanor for failing or recklessly not meeting an emergency order.

16:08
The printing issue is being worked on by PCG (NHSEIS software company) If your accommodation and/or modifications are on an IEP they can be copied and pasted into the IEP process.
Helen Rist
16:29
Exactly Santina!!
Santina Thibedeau
16:54
Thank you, Beckly
Stacey Eaton
17:17
Terry,You can cut and paste the accommodations in NHSEIS, but the system now only allows 10, so if you are amending an IEP with more than 10 accommodations you can't add them all back in.
Kim Di Salvo
18:45
For comp ed documentation, would it be best to put in WPN vs IEP in the unlikely case you could have stay put?
terry.l.hersh
18:45
No we can not retrieve the data. I called and talked with PCG this morning and the information in the IEP process cannot be retrieved.
Mandie Hibbard
19:27
Thanks, that's the way I understood it, but in the wording of the question I wanted to be sure

20:04
How will DOE know of the decision? (comp ed) what is the mechanism for districts to report?
Jeanette Souther - Portsmouth
20:16
Want to make sure any services for comp ed can be counted toward possible sped aid calculation in the future
terry.l.hersh
20:28
Stacey Eaton, I will let PCG know system is only allowing 10 accommodations.
Carol Kosnitsky
21:14
I would think it is important to not confuse current IEP with comp. ed. services. I hope the guidance will recommend a stand alone document with a start/end date for services - documented through WPN. The IEP will typically far exceed info that would be necessary to address comp ed issues.
Jeanette Souther - Portsmouth
21:19
Kim that is my concern
Chris Beeso
22:06
Clarification: If high school is offering hybrid with two days of face to face for each cohort and three days at home that the spirit of the exec order is to invite special education students into bldg. for each day bldg. is open or if special education services can be met within the two days as scheduled their is no need to have students in bldg. for additional days?
Christine Boston
22:48
I’m not even able to get the accommodations section right now only modifications.

23:29
I was under the impression there was $CARES/ESSER funds for comp ed. At what point, and how, will the district let the commissioner know of the comp ed numbers, then? (if there's no need to report)
Chris Beeso
24:31
gotcha! Thank you!
Marcia Bagley
25:05
do you suggest we have an IEP meeting for each student prior to school starts to determine the number of days students should be coming in for in person?
Lois DaSilva-Knapton
25:31
How do we access the 17 million dollars the Governor referred to in his statement last week?
Jennifer Pomykato
27:21
To clarify scheduling of those IEP meetings, does the “start of school” 30-day count begin when students start school (remote, hybrid in-person)? School calendars likely will reflect teachers are back earlier for PD. Thx
Lois DaSilva-Knapton
27:24
Ok, Thanks.
Elizabeth Noel
28:32
If a student transfers, which district is responsible for this meeting?
Caroline Arakelian
28:34
I think the question is if the school is all remote, does the thirty days start at that time or when the buildings open.
Elizabeth Noel
29:38
Both

ORDER 48. Each school district must ensure that they hold IEP team meetings for every student identifiedfor special education services no later than 30 calendar days after the first day of the schooldistrict's 2020-2021 school year. At the meeting, the IEP team will consider what CompensatoryEducation Services, if any, are required to be provided to make up for services not providedduring period of remote instruction and support, student regression, or student's failure to makeexpected progress as indicated in the student's IEP.
Jennifer Pomykato
31:17
I agree Esther. Just for clarification - it is the student’s first day, not the staff
Marcia Bagley
31:17
how does the order #64 affect out of disstirict kids?
Marcia Bagley
31:57
for example, students attending school in mass? Lighthouse is starting fully remote
Helen Rist
33:15
We always do…
mmiller
33:31
Are we doing what's most appropriate.
Jennifer Pomykato
33:34
Thank you Becky and Team!
