A question I'd appreciate your addressing: what technology exists for installing hydronic heating (without cooling) in single family homes

I have a condo and would like to change the systems. I am on the 1st floor but there are second floors. What would you suggest for (e) condo?

Focus a bit on traditional commercial high flame cooking and Chinese wok cooking. Are limited gas burners allowed? Wood-burning ovens/ ranges?

Will this deck be available as a hand out to the Attendees? Many of the points would be great to highlight for clients just not there yet.

David: detached ADUs are often required to go all electric under these local ordinances but not universally. Most cities exempt attached ADUs but again it depends on the location.

For ADU are we considered multi-family?

What kind of system do you have now?
Amy Rider
01:36:47
I'd recommend a heat pump with a large tank. Super Efficient! Sanden has an 83 g model.

I have gas for cooking, heat and the water heater. I don’t have air conditioning. I see an issue with the condo association with the looks and with understanding the systems. There are about 150 units in 8 unit buildings.
Gina Rodda
01:42:42
Yeah, heat pump equipment for space heating will have an outside component, even if hanging from the outside wall....I suggest engaging an energy consultant who can look at if electric resistance is a viable option through some trade-offs. Cooking will be easier to switch, water heating will depend on location and space available for the tank water heater.

I think this will be an issue for most condo complexes. I want to look into if there is a national condo assoc. that is helping condo complexes with these issues.
Amy Rider
01:46:55
I agree that it would be beneficial to engage an expert. There is a newer heat pump product on the market right now that may be an option: https://img.edilportale.com/catalogs/2-0-Catalogue-2017-it-en-INNOVA-328715-catb51a9f0.pdf
