I am certified WBE, SBE, DBE and working on my MBE

A fellow woman biz owner (a male ally connected me with) encouraged me to become WOSB certified as soon as possible. Especially working in the male dominated field of sports, it helps me stand out.

Sandy just spoke to it. It was a program that Wbenc launched this summer to support certified women with scaling in the midst of covid

wbenc.org is the website for Women's Business Enterprise National Council.

@ceclila It was a 9 week program. With a robust learning environment. It covered, marketing, HR, continuity plans and so much more. There was also a component that allowed us to network and collaborate with other WBEs over that time.

You have to have been in biz for a min. of 3 years, correct?

Best practice: login to see what documents you need first. Gather those, then go in, upload, and submit. The online app is easy.

how many corporate members does WBENC have?

NWBOC is also a certifier of WBEs.

Is WBENC certification generally accepted by govt agencies asking for WBE/DBE certs?

Through WBENC, you can become certified as a WOSB. But govt agencies generally do not accept WBENC WBE certification.

Are there financial requirements for businesses that are applying for certification?

I keep a spreadsheet with all of mine to keep up with renewal dates.

Can you talk about the online self-certification by SBA that ends in October… I should also go after WBENC certification?

There are eligibility requirements that must be met for the DBB scholarships.
