alinamyronets
26:57

Hailey Chamberlain
27:12
Yes TutorMe is available to all WAVA Students 6-12th Grade
Hailey Chamberlain
27:28
And TutorME will include the Flex Program students
MH
27:29
Very Sorry joined late, what is flex program
Scottie 2761534
27:49
I have HiCap students and would love to see more programming for them.
Winter
28:01
what is it, I just got in
Hailey Chamberlain
28:14
Flex is a new program that offers flexible learning plans with less class connect time and more independent learning We will share the slides out to all families if you missed any information.
Phillip
28:28
My son is HiCap student and we are interested in this program
Hailey Chamberlain
28:47
There is a survey if you are interested: https://tinyurl.com/WAVAflexInterest
Maddox Mullen

so it sounds like the day to day schedule would be the same lessons but families would just have more flexibility to complete them in their own pace rather than being overdue ?
Kelley Koidahl
28:59
Where is the raise your hand feature to speak?
Hailey Chamberlain
29:22
Raise Your Hand feature is in reactions at the bottom
Kelley Koidahl
30:45
I only show six icons in reactions. I will just put the thumbs up, I guess. I would like to ask a question though.
Caitlyn 2851897
30:46
will class connect be optional if they need extra that week?
Hailey Chamberlain
32:52
If on the Flex plan you would not have any added required class connects.
Autumn
33:13
Will the curriculum be the same or is it advanced classes?
Randy Dirks
34:11
Could we choose the Flex program for just one class? My son finished 5th grade math in less than half of this year. Sitting on the CC was pure torture, but he did it to comply with the attendance requirements. Could we simply say that he doesn’t have to go to Math CC in 6th grade, say, and then keep the rest of his classes as normal?
Karris
34:17
does that mean attending the live class connect might be optional as well. U can attend what might be helpful and not attend most of the time as needed? ....or not class connects available in flex program?
Jamie Harding
34:25
Would attending extra classes with teachers be an option?
Tyrah & Kristin Gaines
34:34
Anything special we have to do to just stay in the regular WAVA and not do the Flex program?
Misty Christy
34:40
For FLEX students, would they have any access to Class Connects? I would love to have them not required, but if my student is struggling with a particular unit/concept, could they join a session as an optional offering?
Hailey Chamberlain
35:29
We will offer the same curriculum within Flex and WAVA, the way the student learns will be different.
Mera Naam
35:58
Is there any opportunity for students in flex program to do presentation in front of peers?
Misty Christy
36:07
Would the FLEX teachers have office hours?
Chris Welton
36:10
Will there still be a part-time option in the FLEX program?
Hillary Rozelle
36:25
If my child did the flex program but needed help in just Math- would he be able to contact a Math teacher for assistance?
Hailey Chamberlain
36:53
When enrolling you are enrolling in our regular WAVA program, to join the Flex you will receive communications on how to participate in Flex. If interested in Flex you will be contacted by a Flex Coordinator that would help with that placement.
Summer (she-her) Shelton
37:01
Flex students will have an assigned teacher for support. MS and HS Students will also be able to access TutorMe 24/7.
Maddox Mullen
37:09
my son is currently in 5th grade and only has class connect for math and ela - when going into 6th grade do they traditionally have more class connects (like science or history) when entering middle school? or still just math and ela?
Amanda Gibbs
37:39
If my student was in Wava flex is there teacher taught videos or is it just the one homeroom a week and assignments.
Summer (she-her) Shelton
37:39
Yes, office hours would likely happen in Flex.
Wendy’s iPhone
37:56
Will it be the same curriculum as regular WAVA?
Summer (she-her) Shelton
38:12
For the most part, yes. @Wendy.
Hailey Chamberlain
38:33
Yes you would have similar curriculum in both programs and just different ways to learn.
Hailey Chamberlain

38:40
sometimes the class connects have good handouts(presentations) shown, might they be accessible or available?
Julia
38:53
Would it be possible to watch the recording of this? I missed the beginning of it.
Hailey Chamberlain
39:05
Resources or handouts would still be shared or materials you may need to be successful.
Susan Boyer
39:12
Yes, we will send out the recording.
Julia
39:18
Thank you Susan
Hailey Chamberlain
39:26
Yes, we will share a recording and the slides to families
Phillip
39:35
where can we send our questions?
Chris Welton
40:04
This year we are enrolled in a part-time option (we have all classes except math through WAVA, and we do a different program for that). Will this still be an option in FLEX?
Bird
40:13
Would there actually be teaching during “Homeroom” class connect or is it just a weekly “check-in”?
Misty Christy
40:14
Was the PRIDE program (with more live time) eliminated? The regular WAVA program would be like this year, right?
Susan Boyer
40:25
Yes Chris, that is still allowed for FLEX.
Chris Welton
40:42
Amazing! Thanks so much, @Susan.
Susan Boyer
40:43
The regular WAVA Program will remain the same next year.
Hailey Chamberlain
40:55
We initially were going to call WAVA the Pride Program and then Flex. We have simplified this so we have the same WAVA Program you are use to and now a Flex option.
Connie Beuchat
41:11
How do you access the Tutor from the TutorMe?
Susan Boyer
41:28
Homeroom will not be focused on academics.
Stephanie
41:47
How do I opt for part-time and this Flex? My son is in the 10th grade and wants to attend the local skills center but has to be part time in our district to do it. He doesn't want to leave WAVA but needs does not need help in class connects.
Viktoriya Y
41:48
If you sign up for FLEX but after some time decide to go to PRIDE program, is there way to switch?
Susan Boyer
42:21
WAVA students access TutorMe from their online school, click the top right paperclip feature, it is under Classlink
Susan Boyer
42:33
TutorMe is for 6-12th grade students
Hailey Chamberlain
42:42
If you enrolled in Flex we would work with you to make it a successful experience but yes if you needed to switch and it was not working the Flex Coordinator would work with you on this.
Kevin
42:53
Would class connects be an option for students in the flex program?

Susan Boyer
43:33
The only class connects would be a weekly homeroom and possibly an open office or help session as needed
Kevin
44:06
Would class connect recordings be made available to those in the Flex program?
Hailey Chamberlain
44:08
Be sure to follow FB and our Instagram and check the WAVA Bulletin Board. We will continue communicating to all families on updates for the program and share the slides/recording.
