Kia ora Mark, you mentioned that Council met just last week on Thursday, 16th Sept to table Three Waters Reforms. Govt provided an eight-week window for Council to understand the information and run a public consultation and include mana whenua. Why are we having this meeting eight days out from the end of the eight week period?

In relation to the referendum question citizens can initiate a national referendum but it needs a petition from 10% of eligible voters nationally. This is approximately 370,000 signatures. Council will be consulting with its residents on the three waters proposal.
