Hi Rafael. It certainly could! We explored the idea of having varying incident light to correspond with latitudes. For now, we just played with the incident light function I presented, but there is no need to restrict it.

Hi Rebecca, Yes, the angle of light will certainly change the amount of light that actually gets into the water. Many different forms of photon scattering occur at the interface. However, in many cases the assumption of ignoring the extra effects will not change the results we have. But would certainly be important when considering a more rigorous application to real scenarios and data.
